Heuchera Brevistaminea
''Heuchera brevistaminea'' is a rare species of flowering plant in the saxifrage family known by the common name Laguna Mountains alumroot. It is endemic to the Laguna Mountains of San Diego County, California. It grows in rock crevices and steep cliffsides in chaparral and yellow pine forest habitats. This is a rhizomatous perennial herb producing an inflorescence up to 25 centimeters tall. The flowers are bright pink or magenta. Ira L. Magenta
Magenta () is a color that is variously defined as pinkish- purplish-red, reddish-purplish-pink or mauvish-crimson. On color wheels of the RGB (additive) and CMY (subtractive) color models, it is located exactly midway between red and blue. The Sierra de Juárez, also known as the Sierra Juarez, is a mountain range located in Tecate Municipality and northern Ensenada Municipality, within the northern Baja California state of northwestern Mexico. It is a major mountain range in the long Peninsular Ranges System, that extends from Southern California down the Baja California Peninsula into Baja California Sur state. Ira Loren Wiggins
Ira Loren Wiggins (1 January 1899 – 28 November 1987) was an American botanist, Curator of the Dudley Herbarium, and Director of the Natural History Museum (1940–1962) at Stanford University. He was a Stanford faculty member from 1929 until his retirement in 1964. He was the first recipient of the Fellow's Medal of the California Academy of Sciences. His ''Flora of Baja California'' is a standard work on the botany of the Baja peninsula and on the many islands of the Gulf of California. Wiggins attended Occidental College as an undergraduate and received his M.A. at Stanford, studying with LeRoy Abrams, and where he won a university fellowship in botany in 1927.
