''Hero of the Year'' ( pl, Bohater roku) is a 1987 Polish drama film directed by Feliks Falk. It was entered into the 15th Moscow International Film Festival where it won the FIPRESCI Prize and a Special Prize. Feliks Falk ps. ''Robert F. Lane'', ''Edward Neyman'' (born 25 February 1941) is a Polish film and theater director as well as writer of film scripts, stage plays, television plays, and radio shows. A 1966 graduate of Warsaw's Academy of Fine Arts, he also is a painter and graphic artist. Falk is one of creators of the 1970s wave of Polish cinematography, called Cinema of Moral Anxiety. His most famous films include ''Wodzirej'' (''Top Dog'') (1977) and ''Samowolka'' (''AWOL'') (1993). Falk has won a number of major filmmaking awards. Poland has submitted films for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film on a regular basis since 1963. The Oscar is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. It was not created until the 1956 Academy Awards, in which a competitive Academy Award of Merit, known as the Best Foreign Language Film Award, was created for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since. Submissions The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film since 1956. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. This is a list of submissions to the 60th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film was created in 1956 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to honour non-English-speaking films produced outside the United States. The award is handed out annually, and is accepted by the winning film's director, although it is considered an award for the submitting country as a whole. Countries are invited by the Academy to submit their best films for competition according to strict rules, with only one film being accepted from each country. Janusz Józefowicz (born 3 July 1959, Świecie) is a Polish director, choreographer, actor and dancer. He is the director and choreographer of the musical ''Metro''. Education Józefowicz is a graduate of the State Higher School of Theatre, Warsaw (now the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art). His graduate production, ''Misbehaving'', was created in 1984. The show was performed at the Ateneum Theatre and the , where Józefowicz later became head choreographer. Józefowicz studied dance at the Vocal and Dance School in Koszecin, and in Prague, under the dance professor . Jerzy Feliks Fedorowicz (born 29 October 1947 in Polanica Zdrój) is a Polish actor, theatre director, poet, politician, a former member of the Sejm (2005–2009), and member of the Senate (2015–). After graduating from the Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Kraków, he became an actor of Teatr Rozmaitości in Kraków (''Variety Theatre in Kraków''), Teatr Dramatyczny (''Dramatic Theatre'') in Szczecin (1970–1971) and Teatr Stary (''The Old Theatre'') in Kraków (1971–1989). Since 1989, he has been a managing and artistic director of the Teatr Ludowy (''The People's Theatre'') in Nowa Huta. He was one of forerunners of an art therapy method. Michal (; he, מיכל , gr, Μιχάλ) was, according to the first Book of Samuel, a princess of the United Kingdom of Israel; the younger daughter of King Saul, she was the first wife of David (), who later became king, first of Judah, then of all Israel.
