''Here and There'' (french: Ici par ici) is a Canadian animated short film, directed by Diane Obomsawin and released in 2006. The film is a portrait of Obomsawin's own childhood experiences growing up in both Canada and France. Diane Obomsawin
Diane Obomsawin (born 1959) is a Quebec-based author, illustrator and animated filmmaker, often known by her pseudonym, Obom. Some of her notable works have explored the issue of lesbian first love, including a 2014 graphic novel, published in French as ''J'aime les filles'' by L'Oie de Cravan and in English as ''On Loving Women'' by Drawn & Quarterly. ''J'aime les filles'' was adapted as a 2016 National Film Board of Canada animated short, '' I Like Girls (J'aime les filles)'', which received the Nelvana Grand Prize for Independent Short at the 40th Ottawa International Animation Festival. ''Voir'' was a francophone alternative weekly newspaper in Montreal, Quebec, published by Communications Voir. ''Voir'' was founded by Pierre Paquet in November 1986. The first issue of the newspaper was published on 27 November 1986. Later on the newspaper developed various local issues with more targeted content. In 2013, the newspaper dropped from weekly to biweekly publication. On April 29, 2015, it was announced that all shares owned by Paquet were purchased by a group of buyers composed of XPND Capital, a Quebec-based private equity firm, and two members of ''Voirs management team, Michel Fortin and Hugues Mailhot. Starting 2016, it commenced publishing as a free monthly magazine. ''The Daily Gleaner'' is a morning daily newspaper serving the city of Fredericton, New Brunswick, and the upper Saint John River Valley. The paper is published Monday through Saturday and began operating in 1880. In April 2006, the paper switched from afternoon to morning publication. The offices of the ''Daily Gleaner'' are located on Alison Boulevard on the city's south side. The ''Gleaner'', as it is called locally, is part of Brunswick News Inc. K.C. Irving bought it in 1968 from Michael Wardell, who had owned it since 1950. The paper has its roots in the earlier paper ''The Gleaner and Northumberland Schediasma'', started in 1829. Jean Derome
Jean Derome (born June 29, 1955) is a French Canadian avant-garde saxophonist, flautist, and composer. A prominent figure in the Montreal ''musique actuelle'' (new music) scene, Derome has been a member of experimental, jazz, and rock groups, and has appeared on over 30 albums, including seven solo albums. He has written scores for over 30 films and co-founded Ambiances Magnétiques, a Canadian musical collective and independent record label. In 1992, Derome won the second annual Canadian Freddie Stone Award. Biography Jean Derome was born in Montreal, Quebec on 29 June 1955.
