''Here Comes the Band'' is a 1935 American comedy film directed by Paul Sloane and written by Paul Sloane, Ralph Spence and Victor Mansfield. Paul Sloane (director)
Paul Sloane (April 19, 1893 November 15, 1963) was an American screenwriter and film director who directed 26 films from 1925 to 1952, and wrote or co-wrote 35 films. Robert McWade
Robert McWade (January 25, 1872 – January 19, 1938), was an American stage and film actor. McWade was born in Buffalo, New York. He was the third actor named Robert McWade, after his father and grandfather. In 1902, McWade debuted on stage with the Murray Hill Stock Company. From 1903 to 1927, he appeared in at least 38 Broadway productions, his last being ''Devil In The Cheese'' (1926), with Bela Lugosi and Fredric March. McWade also appeared in 83 films between 1924 and 1938, for example ''42nd Street'' with Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler (1933). His older brother was character actor Edward McWade. McWade was married to Minne Lee, and they had two sons. On January 19, 1938, McWade died of heart disease in Culver City, California, at age 65. American Comedy Films
American comedy films are comedy films produced in the United States. The genre is one of the oldest in American cinema; some of the first silent movies were comedies, as slapstick comedy often relies on visual depictions, without requiring sound. Charles Lane (born Charles Gerstle Levison; January 26, 1905 – July 9, 2007) was an American character actor and centenarian whose career spanned 72 years. Lane gave his last performance at the age of 101 as a narrator in 2006. Florence Gill
Florence Gill (27 July 1877 – 19 February 1965) was a British actress. In Walt Disney's animated films, Gill made a specialty for 20 years of voicing hens, including Clara Cluck, The Wise Little Hen and other assorted fowl. May Beatty
May Beatty (4 June 1880–1 April 1945) was a New Zealand singer and stage and screen actress. She was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, on 4 June 1880. Biography Beatty began her performing career at age seven, touring with Pollard's Lilliputian Opera Company. Her first performances in England were in 1908. In 1923 she toured Australia with Hugh J. William Gilbert Barron (September 12, 1894 – September 23, 1971), known professionally as Billy Gilbert, was an American actor and comedian. He was known for his comic sneeze routines. He appeared in over 200 feature films, short subjects and television shows beginning in 1929. Career Early life and vaudeville career The child of singers with the Metropolitan Opera, he was born in a dressing room at the Hopkins Opera House in Louisville, Kentucky. Tyler Brooke
Tyler Brooke (born Victor Hugo de Bierre, June 6, 1886 – March 2, 1943) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 90 films between 1915 and 1943. He was born in New York, New York and died in Los Angeles, California by committing suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. Before he became an entertainer, Brooke was a bank clerk and an attorney. He began on the stage at the Globe Theatre, New York City in 1912. He went to Los Angeles in 1925 with ''No, No, Nanette'' as a comedian and was captured for screen. He worked for Hal Roach for a year and a half before going into other films. In 1929, he sued Oliver Hardy for $109,570 damages, alleging that Hardy struck him across the arm with a billiard cue, fracturing it and preventing him working for 12 weeks.
