Hercílio Luz Futebol Clube, often abbreviated to Hercílio Luz, is a Brazilian football club based in Tubarão, Santa Catarina. Founded on 22 December 1918, it was the first Santa Catarina club to compete in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and the first southern Santa Catarina team to win the state championship. It currently plays in the Campeonato Catarinense Série A, the first division of the Santa Catarina state league. History The club was founded on December 23, 1918. Tubarão
Tubarão (lit. "shark") is a Brazilian Municipalities of Brazil, municipality located in southern part of Santa Catarina (state), Santa Catarina state. The population, according to the IBGE/2020 estimate was 106,422. It is the main city of the Tubarão River Drainage basin, basin region, which comprises 20 municipalities and a population of 350,000 inhabitants. Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D) is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on April 9, 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it will be reduced to 64 clubs. The Campeonato Catarinense de Futebol, known as Campeonato Catarinense or simply Catarinense, is the main competition of association football from state of Santa Catarina, in Brazil. History The Campeonato Catarinense top level has had several different names since it started. From its first edition, in 1924, to 1985, it was called just Campeonato Catarinense (Santa Catarina Championship). 2022 Campeonato Catarinense
The 2022 Campeonato Catarinense (officially the Catarinense Fort Atacadista 2022 for sponsorship reasons) was the 97th season of Santa Catarina's top-flight football league organized by FCF. The season began on 22 January and ended on 2 April 2022. Avaí were the defending champions but were eliminated in the quarter-finals. The finals were played between Brusque and Camboriú. Tied 1–1 on aggregate, Brusque won their second title due to having a better performance in the first stage. Format The tournament was contested between 12 teams, who first played in a single round-robin tournament. In the first stage, the bottom two teams were relegated to next year's Série B. The Taça Brasil ( en, Brazil Cup) was the Brazilian national football championship contested from 1959 to 1968. Bahia, Cruzeiro and Botafogo were the only champions to have played all phases of the tournament, because until the 1968 edition teams from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo were already qualified to the semi-finals.
