The Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba (french: Parti progressiste-conservateur du Manitoba) is a centre-right political party in Manitoba, Canada. It is currently the governing party in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, after winning a substantial majority in the 2016 election and maintaining a majority in the 2019 election. 2006 Manitoba Municipal Elections
The Canadian province of Manitoba held municipal elections on October 25, 2006. Brandon *Jeff Harwood is a teacher in Brandon. He was a councillor for the city's second ward in the 1980s, and represented Brandon before the Royal Commission on National Passenger Transportation in 1990. Following the events of September 11, 2001, Harwood wrote a piece supporting increased border security and an "increased role for our Armed Forces in national security". He wrote a public letter in support of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada in 2002. Elmwood (Manitoba Riding)
Elmwood is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. 1914-1920 The original Elmwood riding existed from 1914 to 1920, in what was then a suburban community in the north of Winnipeg. Its provincial Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) were: 1958-present The modern Elmwood riding was created by redistribution in 1957, and has formally existed since the provincial election of 1958. It is located in the northeastern section of the amalgamated City of Winnipeg; the Red River forms its western and part of its southern boundary. Gary Doer
Gary Albert Doer (born 31 March 1948) is a former Canadian politician and diplomat from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He served as Canada's ambassador to the United States from 19 October 2009, to 3 March 2016. Doer previously served as the 20th premier of Manitoba from 1999 to 2009, leading a New Democratic Party government. Since the end of his term as envoy to Washington, Doer has taken up a position as senior business advisor with the global law firm Dentons and has been retained by the government of Alberta to lobby the Trump administration on the softwood lumber dispute. The 1995 Manitoba general election was held on April 25, 1995 to elect Members of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Manitoba, Canada. It was won by the Progressive Conservative Party, which won 31 seats out of 57. The New Democratic Party formed the official opposition with 23 seats; the Liberal Party won 3. The ''Winnipeg Free Press'' (or WFP; founded as the ''Manitoba Free Press'') is a daily (excluding Sunday) broadsheet newspaper in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Thalidomide, sold under the brand names Contergan and Thalomid among others, is a medication used to treat a number of cancers (including multiple myeloma), graft-versus-host disease, and a number of skin conditions including complications of leprosy. While it has been used in a number of HIV-associated conditions, such use is associated with increased levels of the virus. It is taken by mouth. Common side effects include sleepiness, rash, and dizziness. Severe side effects include tumor lysis syndrome, blood clots, and peripheral neuropathy. Concordia is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is in the northeastern part of the city of Winnipeg. It is bordered to the south by St. Boniface, to the west by Elmwood, to the north by Rossmere, and to the east by Radisson. The riding was created by redistribution in 1979, and formally came into existence with the provincial election of 1981. Concordia is an ethnically diverse riding, with 16% of its human population born outside Canada. Walter Leland Rutherford "Lee" Clark (16 December 1936 – 10 August 2008) was a Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada.
