Sir Henry Fletcher, 3rd Baronet (April 1661 – 19 May 1712) was an English baronet and politician. He was the oldest son of Sir George Fletcher, 2nd Baronet and his first wife Alice Hare, daughter of Hugh Hare, 1st Baron Coleraine. In 1700, he succeeded his father as baronet. Fletcher was educated at The Queen's College, Oxford, where he matriculated on 10 June 1678. He entered the English House of Commons as member of parliament (MP) for Cockermouth in 1689, representing the constituency until the following year. Henry Fletcher (engraver)
Henry Fletcher (fl. 1710–1750), was an English engraver. Fletcher worked in London, and produced engravings possessing some merit. He most excelled as an engraver of flowers, notably ''The Twelve Months of Flowers'' and ''The Twelve Months of Fruits'', engraved from drawings by Pieter Casteels, made in 1730 for a publication by Robert Furber, the well-known gardener. He also engraved some fine plates of birds from drawings by Casteels and Charles Collins. He engraved some of the vignettes and tail-pieces to the first edition of Voltaire's ''Henriade'', published in London in 1728. Among his other works were ''Bathsheba''’ after Sebastiano Conca; a set of views of Venice, engraved with L. P. Commander Sir Henry Fletcher, 1st Baronet of Clea Hall (1727 – 29 March 1807) was an MP for Cumberland in the Parliament of Great Britain between 1768 and 1800, and in the Parliament of the United Kingdom between 1801 and 1802. Born Henry Fletcher in circa 1727 he was the son of John Fletcher and Isabella Senhouse. In 1759 he gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Honourable East India Company and was a director of the Honourable East India Company between 1766 and 1784. Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, 4th Baronet, (24 September 1835 – 19 May 1910), born Henry Fletcher, was a Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom. The eldest son and second child of Sir Henry Fletcher, 3rd Baronet (born 1807) and Emily Maria Browne, he succeeded to the baronetcy on 6 September 1851 upon the death of his father. In 1903, he had his name changed under Royal Licence to Henry Aubrey-Fletcher to reflect his inheritance from the Aubrey estate. Major Sir Henry Lancelot Aubrey-Fletcher, 6th Baronet (10 September 1887 – 30 May 1969), also known by his pen name Henry Wade, was Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire from 1954 to 1961. He was also one of the leading authors during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction. Life Aubrey-Fletcher was the only son and second child of Sir Lancelot Aubrey-Fletcher, 5th Baronet and Emily Harriet Wade (married 18 April 1882 St Anne, Soho, London), though his father had already had another son by a previous marriage, but the child died in infancy. Sir Henry Egerton Aubrey-Fletcher, 8th Baronet (born 27 November 1945), is the former Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire. He is the grandson of Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, who previously held the office from 1954 to 1961. Biography The only son and second child of Lieut-Col Sir John Aubrey-Fletcher Bt JP and Diana Mary Fynvola Egerton, a scion of the Egertons of Tatton. Educated at Eton College, Sir Henry spent most of his career either farming or working in broadcasting. He worked on his father's farm until 1972 when he took over the tenancy. Henry Fletcher (January 17, 1859 – August 26, 1953) was the 25th mayor of Providence, Rhode Island. Personal life Henry Fletcher was born in Birmingham, England, on January 17, 1859. His family moved to New Jersey, United States, when Henry was a small boy. By 1873, the family moved to Providence Rhode Island, where Henry attended public schools. He studied at Scholfield's Commercial College, a business school in Providence. Henry Fletcher married Hattie E. Bennett in 1883. She died in 1935. Three sons outlived him: Henry B. Fletcher Sr; R. Leslie Fletcher, president of the Providence Gas Company; and Paul W. Fletcher. A fourth son, Col. Edward G. Fletcher, died shortly after World War II.
