Helidon is a rural town and locality in the Lockyer Valley Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Helidon had a population of 1,059 people. Helidon is known in Queensland for its high quality sandstone (also called freestone), used extensively in private and public buildings in the state and elsewhere, including Brisbane City Hall, Brisbane Treasury Building, University of Queensland, and sought after internationally for its quality, especially in China. Helidon is also the location of a natural mineral spring whose products were sold by the Helidon Spa Water Company, now known as Kirks. Geography Helidon is located on the Warrego Highway, west of the state capital, Brisbane, and east of Toowoomba. Parts of the hilly, undeveloped north of Helidon have been protected within Lockyer National Park. Helidon railway station is located on the Main Line railway, Queensland, Main line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the town of Helidon, Queensland, Helidon in the Lockyer Valley Region. Helidon Gjergji
Helidon Gjergji (born 1970 in Shkodër, Albania) is a contemporary artist who works in various media. Life Helidon Gjergji was born in Shkodër and raised in Tirana, Albania, where he studied art and earned a BFA from the Academy of Arts in Tirana. After Albania's borders opened in 1991, he moved to Italy, where he studied visual arts further, obtained a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, Italy, and travelled across Italy and Europe. In 1997, he moved to Chicago, where he earned an MFA in Art Theory and Practice from Northwestern University, Chicago, and had his first American exhibitions. He currently lives and works between New York City and Tirana. Helidon Xhixha
Helidon Xhixha is a contemporary artist born in Durrës, Albania, in December 1970. Xhixha is known for his stainless steel sculptures, which is often fused with other mediums such as marble or brass. Early life and education Born into a family of artists, Xhixha inherited his interest for the Fine Arts and passion for sculpting from his father, whom among other things, was a state portraitist for the Albanian government. Following secondary school he first attended and graduated from the Academy of Arts in Tirana, where he was a part of a rising period for Albanian art. He then moved to Italy, where he attended the Brera Art Academy of Milan in 1991. In 1998 Xhixha was awarded a scholarship to Kingston University, London, where he developed techniques in engraving, sculpting and photography.
