Helena and Aurora Ranges National Park, located in the Helena and Aurora Range, is a proposed national park in the Goldfields–Esperance and Wheatbelt (Western Australia), Wheatbelt regions of Western Australia, east of Perth. The proposed national park, with an initial size of , subsequently extended to , is located in the Shire of Menzies, Shires of Menzies and Shire of Yilgarn, Yilgarn and is part of the Coolgardie bioregion. Completion of stage one of the process of creating the national park was announced in February 2021. Stage one involved the upgrade of the existing Mount Manning Range Nature Reserve to a national park. The subsequent stage requires Mount Manning Conservation Park to be converted to a national park which, in turn, requires the development of an Indigenous Land Use Agreement with the Marlinyu Ghoorlie native title claim over the area. Great Western Woodlands
The Great Western Woodlands is located in the southwest of Australia. The woodlands cover almost , a region larger in size than England and Wales. The boundary of the Great Western Woodlands runs from the Nullarbor Plain in the east to the Western Australian Wheatbelt in the west; from north of Esperance through to the inland mulga country and deserts that are found north of Kalgoorlie. The boundaries of this region were established by researchers from the Australian National University working with The Wilderness Society and are based on satellite data of the region's natural ecosystems and vegetation types. Coolgardie is an Australian bioregion consisting of an area of low hills and plains of infertile sandy soil in Western Australia. It has an area of . It includes much of the Great Western Woodlands.
