A record label, or record company, is a brand or trademark of music recordings and music videos, or the company that owns it. Sometimes, a record label is also a publishing company that manages such brands and trademarks, coordinates the production, manufacture, distribution, marketing, promotion, and enforcement of copyright for sound recordings and music videos, while also conducting talent scouting and development of new artists, and maintaining contracts with recording artists and their managers. Oofotr
Oofotr is a Norwegian music group consisting of jazz musicians from Narvik. They arrange traditional music from Ofoten and had their debut in Kjeldebotn Church, 1994 with music contributions from local historian Magnus Pettersen from Ballangen. After a series of performances on the north Norwegian music and album, belonged new material from Tromsø Museum and a second album in 2001. The band combines ambient and world music and is partly inspired by Sandbakk's engagement with the Trondheim choir Chorus, as in 1981–82 recordings of Ballangen music. "Oofotr" comes from Ofoten in Aslak Bolt's land register. Unni Løvlid
Unni Løvlid (born 23 March 1976) is a Norwegian musician. She was raised in Hornindal, Sogn og Fjordane, where she was taught to play piano, fiddle, and Hardanger fiddle. Her interest in folk music was initiated by her mother, Oline Ragnhild Løvlid who taught her about the traditional music of Nordfjord. Career After studying music at Firda gymnas, Unni went to the Toneheim folkehøyskole at Hamar. She continued her musical studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music. In 2007, she won the Gammleng-prisen in the folk music class. Together with Sigrid Moldestad and Liv Merete Kroken, she started the stage and cabaret trio Fjøgl. They set up three performances in 2001–2004, among them they were of one of the draws at The international folklore festival in Forde 2001. Jon Anders Halvorsen
Jon Anders Halvorsen (born 1968 in Lunde, Norway) is a Norwegian folk singer and physician. Career Halvorsen is a graduate of the Ole Bull Academy at Voss (1998–2000) and won the prize for best vocal performer at Landskappleiken in 2002. Halvorsen is a connoisseur of the "kvede" tradition in Telemark. He collaborated with guitarist Tore Bruvoll as the character of Prins Sveinung (Tamino) in the folk music production of the opera The Magic Flute (2005–2006), by Rikskonsertene and quinces group Dvergmål. Halvorsen and Bruvoll were awarded the Folkelarmpris in 2007, in the class Innovative/Experimental. In 2012 he was nominated for the Folkelarmpris for the album ''Komme No Heim''. Tore Bruvoll
Tore Bruvoll (born 30 October 1978 in Tromsø) is a Norwegian musician (guitar and multi-instrumentalist), composer and music arranger. Career Bruvoll was educated at Telemark University College (1997–1999), and is best known from the group Hekla Stålstrenga who have released two albums. He has also had great success with two otherprojects: "Den Store Norske Gitarkvartett" and the duo cooperation Bruvoll/Halvorsen together with the kveder Jon Anders Halvorsen. Bruvoll has collaborated with many other artists in traditional folk like Annbjørg Lien and String Sisters. Bruvoll has since the late 1990s worked closely with Ragnhild Furebotten, which has resulted in the founding of the band Hekla Stålstrenga, including two nominations for the Spellemannprisen and extensive touring in Norway as well as internationally. Lena Willemark
Lena Willemark (born 12 May 1960) is a Swedish traditional music fiddler, singer, and composer, who combines elements of folk and jazz. Born in Älvdalen, Dalarna, Willemark grew up with the region's folk music. In Stockholm in the 1970s, she also had contact with jazz. She has collaborated with groups such as Frifot, Enteli, Elise Einarsdotter, and composer Karin Rehnqvist. She recorded ''Nordan'' with Ale Möller, winning in 1994 both a Grammis and the ''Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik''. Commissioned by Stockholm, Cultural Capital of Europe in 1998, she composed and performed ''Windogur''. For several decades Willemark has broadened her scope through collaborations with jazz musicians and other artists. Marilyn Mazur
Marilyn Mazur (born January 18, 1955) is an American-born Danish percussionist. Since 1975, she has worked as a percussionist with various groups, among them Six Winds with Alex Riel. Mazur is primarily an autodidact, but she has a degree in percussion from the Royal Danish Academy of Music. Musical life Mazur was born in New York City in 1955, from Polish and African-American parents, who moved with her to Denmark at age 6. She learned to play the piano, but when she was 19, she took up drumming, inspired by Al Foster, Airto Moreira, and Alex Riel. She started her first band in 1973, ''Zirenes''. In 1978, she formed ''Primi'', an all-woman theatre band. Kirsten Bråten Berg
Kirsten Marie Bråten Berg (born 7 January 1950 in Arendal, Norway) is a Norwegian traditional folk singer, silversmith and government scholar. She is currently living in Valle in the Setesdal area of southern Norway. She trained as a silversmith at the Torleiv H. Bjørgums Vocational College (''Oslo Yrkesskole an Torleiv H. Bjørgums'') in Setesdal and then set up her own workshop there, in Nomeland. Hans Fredrik Jacobsen
Hans Fredrik Jacobsen (born 8 September 1954) is a Norwegian musician and composer, best known for his work with his wife, the traditional folk singer Tone Hulbækmo, and with the medieval music group Kalenda Maya, as well as his concert and studio music on a range of instruments: flute, diatonic button accordion, saxophone and guitar.
