Suecia 2-045 ; Hedemora
In modern English, the name of Sweden ( sv, Sverige, links=no ) is derived from 17th century Middle Dutch and Middle Low German. In Old English, the country was named ''Swēoland'' (literally "Swede land") and ''Swēorīċe'' (literally "Swede kingdom"); the latter is cognate with Old Norse ''Svíaríki''. Anglo-Norman of the 12th and 13th centuries used ''Suane'' and ''Swane'' (with the adjective as ''Suaneis''). In Scots, ''Swane'' and ''Swaine'' appear in the 16th century. Early Modern English used ''Swedeland''. The Old English name for Sweden was ''Swēoland'' or ''Swēorīċe'', land or kingdom of the ''Swēon'', whereas the Germanic tribe of the ''Swedes'' was called ''Svíþjóð'' in Old Norse. The latter is a compositum consisting of ''Sví'' which means Swedish and ''þjóð'' which means people. The word ''þjóð'' has its origin in the elder Indo-European word ''teuteh''. The name of the ''Sviar'' is derived from a self-designation containing the Germanic reflexive ...

Republic Of Singapore Navy
The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) is the naval service branch of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) responsible for defending the country against any sea-borne threats, and the protection of its sea lines of communications, that would compromise Singapore as a global trading hub. The RSN traces its origins to the Royal Navy when Singapore was still a Crown colony of the British Empire. After Singapore's independence from Malaysia in 1965, the service was formally established in 1967, and had undergone a substantial modernisation ever since—which led them into becoming the most powerful navy in Southeast Asia. The RSN conducts operations with the Malaysian and Indonesian navies to combat piracy and terrorist threats in the crowded littoral waters of the Strait of Malacca and Singapore. It also jointly operates the Fokker 50 maritime patrol aircraft with its counterparts from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) to provide air surveillance of the seaward approaches to Si ...

Originally launched as the Swedish Navy submarines HSwMS ''Hälsingland'' and HSwMS ''Västergötland'' in 1986 and 1987, the two submarines were sold to Singapore in November 2005 and relaunched in June 2009 and October 2010 respectively after extensive modernisation by Kockums, which included a refit to standards, the insertion of a new hull section with an air independent propulsion system, and additional climatisation for use in tropical waters. History Singapore's Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) signed an agreement with Kockums for the supply of two ''Archer''-class (formerly ''Västergötland''-class) submarines to the RSN on 4 November 2005. More than 20 years old and previously in reserve with the Swedish Navy, the submarines were transferred to the RSN on completion of the modernisation and conversion for operation in tropical waters. ...

Collins Class Submarine
The ''Collins''-class submarines are Australian-built diesel-electric submarines operated by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). The ''Collins'' class takes its name from Australian Vice Admiral John Augustine Collins; each of the six submarines is named after significant RAN personnel who distinguished themselves in action during . The six vessels were the first submarines built in Australia, prompting widespread improvements in Australian industry and delivering a sovereign (Australian controlled) sustainment/maintenance capability. Planning for a new design to replace the RAN's submarines began in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Proposals were received from seven companies; two were selected for a funded study to determine the winning design, which was announced in mid-1987. The submarines, enlarged versions of Swedish shipbuilder Kockums' and originally referred to as the Type 471, were constructed between 1990 and 2003 in South Australia by the Australian Submarine Corpora ...
