Heavenly Recordings
Heavenly Recordings is a London-based independent record label founded by Jeff Barrett in 1990. Heavenly released the first albums from Saint Etienne (band), Saint Etienne, Beth Orton and Doves (band), Doves, and early singles by Manic Street Preachers. Current Heavenly artists include Stealing Sheep, Mattiel, The Orielles, Confidence Man (band), Confidence Man, audiobooks, Pip Blom, H. Hawkline, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Gwenno Saunders, Amber Arcades, Working Men's Club, Katy J Pearson and CHAI. Heavenly won Independent Label of the Year at the 2015 Music Week Awards. Other achievements include a Mercury Prize nomination for Saint Etienne's debut album ''Foxbase Alpha'' and three Number 1 albums with Doves. Yesterday Tomorrow Today
Northern Uproar are an English rock band formed in Stockport in 1995. They disbanded in 1999, but reunited in 2006, and recorded two more studio albums and a live album. They have released four studio albums and a number of singles, several of which charted in the UK Singles Chart. Their biggest-selling single was the double A-side " From A Window/This Morning", which peaked in the UK's Top 20 in February 1996. History Beginning and debut album (1995–96) The band formed in 1995 with Leon Meya (vocalist, bassist), Paul Kelly (guitarist), Jeff Fletcher (guitarist), and Keith Chadwick (drummer). Some Cities
''Some Cities'' is the third studio album by the British indie rock band Doves. The album was released by Heavenly Recordings on 21 February 2005, and became the band's second consecutive album to top the UK Albums Chart at number 1. ''Some Cities'' was conceived as a rawer, stripped-down record, and conceptually touches upon the physical changes of the band's hometown of Manchester, as well as emotional transformations. The album features the band's second-highest charting single, " Black and White Town", which peaked at number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. Two further singles from the album—" Snowden" and " Sky Starts Falling"—also fared moderately well on the chart, peaking at number 17 and 45, respectively. ''Highly Evolved'' is the debut studio album by Australian alternative rock band The Vines. It was released on 14 July 2002 on Capitol Records. ''Lost Sides'' is a compilation album by the band Doves. The original incarnation of ''Lost Sides'' was a promotional-only CD released in 2001, and only featured the B-sides from the singles taken from the band's debut album '' Lost Souls''. The commercial edition of ''Lost Sides'' was released with a revised track listing in September 2003 as a single CD and as a limited edition double disc set.
