Hermann Thimig
Hermann Thimig (3 October 1890 – 7 July 1982) was an Austrian stage and film actor. He appeared in 102 films between 1916 and 1967. Biography Thimig came from a famous family of actors. His father, Hugo Thimig, was an actor, director and director of the Vienna Burgtheater. His siblings Helene Thimig and Hans Thimig, with whom he trained at the theater and worked together several times in films, were accomplished actors. During his early days in elementary school and high school in Vienna, and in various land reform schools, Thimig performed with amateur theater groups and private performances. Johannes Rudolf Roth (September 4, 1815 – June 26, 1858) was a German zoologist and traveler. Biography Roth was born in Nuremberg to Karl Johann Friedrich von Roth, president of the Bavarian Supreme Consistory (''Oberkonsistorialpräsident''). The younger Roth studied medicine and natural sciences, and in 1836–37 accompanied Gotthilf Heinrich von Schubert on his expedition to Egypt and Palestine. Beginning in 1839 he traveled to the East Indies and the northwest coast of Africa. In 1843 he became Professor of Zoology at the University of Munich. He undertook two more journeys to Palestine, starting in 1852 and 1856 respectively. The 1856 expedition was supported by the Prussian government and was intended for research of the structure and formation of the Jordan Rift Valley.
