Heathcote High School
Heathcote High School, established in 1960, is set in grounds near the Royal National Park on the southern side of Sydney, Australia. It is a Government comprehensive co-educational high school. Parliamentary mentions Geoff Dodds In a debate in the Parliament of Australia, on 9 October 2006, Danna Vale MP praised several high school principals including Geoff Dodds of Heathcote High saying "I was privileged to be invited to a year 12 graduation assembly and, once again, was stirred by the thoughtful words of the principal’s Geoff Dodds final address to the students." Heathcote School, Essex
Danbury is a village in the City of Chelmsford district, in the county of Essex, England. It is located northeast of Charing Cross, London and has a population of 6,500. It is situated on a hill above sea level. The city of Danbury, Connecticut in the United States is named after the village. Origins The village was built on the site of a Neolithic or early Iron Age hill fort noted for its oval shape, sometimes confused with the Megalithic enclosure at Danebury in Hampshire. According to the official parish publication, ''Danbury Parish Plan 2003'', first Iron Age settlers, then the Romans and finally the Dæningas tribe of Saxons occupied the Danbury area. The place-name 'Danbury' is first attested as ''Danengeberia'' in the Domesday Book of 1086. The name means 'the burgh or fort of Dene's people'. The Heathcote School
The Heathcote School was an 11-18 comprehensive school in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The school was founded in the 1950s. It was awarded Specialist Engineering College (English specialist school) status. The school was situated in Shephall. Typically in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s students would leave to work at British Aerospace, GEC Marconi Marconi Electronic Systems (MES), or GEC-Marconi as it was until 1998, was the defence arm of General Electric Company (GEC). It was demerged from GEC and bought by British Aerospace (BAe) on 30 November 1999 to form BAE Systems. GEC then ren ..., Ferranti or one of the other large engineering firms based in or around Stevenage. There were usually about 1000 pupils at the school. It had workshops for metalworking, carpentry, and cookery and science labs, all to encourage both boys and girls in the trade of engineering.
