Headquarters Of The Estonian Defence Forces
The Headquarters of the Estonian Defence Forces is the working body of the Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces and joint staff of the Estonian Defence Forces. Its main tasks include supporting the activities of the Commander and Deputy Commander of the Defence Forces; planning the activities of the Defence Forces; advising, supervising, coordinating and controlling the activities of the Defence Forces units. History The first headquarters of the Estonian military was initially formed on 6 December 1917, as the Staff of the Estonian Division. The formation of the headquarters was conducted by Andres Larka and Jaan Soots. The Staff of the Estonian Armies was officially established on 26 November 1918, with Andres Larka becoming the Chief of Staff. The Estonian Defence Forces ( et, Eesti Kaitsevägi) are the unified military forces of the Republic of Estonia. The Estonian Defence Forces consist of the Estonian Land Forces, the Estonian Navy, the Estonian Air Force, and the paramilitary Estonian Defence League. North Star

Veiko-Vello Palm (born on 29 May 1971) is an Estonian Major General of the Estonian Defence Forces. Since 2023, he is the Commander of the Estonian Division. Martin Herem
Martin Herem (born 17 December 1973) is an Estonian lieutenant general and the current Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces since 2018. Herem entered into service in 1992. From 2013 to 2016 he served as the Commandant of the Estonian National Defence College and from 2016 to 2018 Chief of Staff of the Headquarters of the Estonian Defence Forces. Igor Schvede (born on 5 December 1970) is an Estonian Rear Admiral and the former Commander of the Estonian Navy from 2007 to 2012. Biography Schvede was born in 1970 in, his military career began at the Leningrad Nakhimov Naval School. He later joined the Soviet Navy, receiving education at the Frunze Naval Academy (now the St. Petersburg Naval Institute), where he graduated with a bachelors in Electromechanical Engineering.
