The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine ( uk, Голова Служби безпеки України) serves as the director of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the internal security agency of the Ukrainian government. The head of the Security Service of Ukraine is ''ex officio'' a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and is appointed or dismissed by the Verkhovna Rada on proposition of the President of Ukraine. Vasyl Malyuk
Vasyl Vasylyovych Malyuk (Ukrainian: Василь Васильович Малюк; born 28 February 1983), is a Ukrainian political military officer and brigadier general, who has been the acting head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) since 18 July 2022. He has been a member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine since 4 August 2022. He is a candidate of legal sciences. Valentyn Oleksandrovych Nalyvaichenko ( uk, Валенти́н Олекса́ндрович Налива́йченко; born 8 June 1966; Zaporizhia) is a Ukraine, Ukrainian diplomat and politician. On 24 February 2014, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) appointed Nalyvaichenko the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), on 18 June 2015 he was relieved of the office.
