''L'assoluto naturale'' (internationally released as ''He and She'' and ''She and He'') is a 1969 Italian drama film directed by Mauro Bolognini. The plot focuses on a mysterious romance involving an uninhibited woman (Koscina) and a dour photographer (Harvey), shot in strange modernist interiors and abstract "sports car on a highway to nowhere" exteriors. The work of cinematographer Ennio Guarnieri in this film has been referred to as "one of the cornerstones of Italian photography in the sixties". Mauro Bolognini
Mauro Bolognini (28 June 1922 – 14 May 2001) was an Italian film and stage director of literate sensibility, known for his masterly handling of period subject matter. Early years Bolognini was born in Pistoia, in the Tuscany region of Italy. After earning a master's degree in architecture at the University of Florence, Bolognini enrolled at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Italian National Film Academy) in Rome, where he studied stage design. After graduation, he became interested in film direction and set out to work as an assistant to directors Luigi Zampa in Italy, and Yves Allégret and Jean Delannoy in France. Guido Mannari (13 December 1944 Castiglioncello — 10 August 1988 Castiglioncello ) was an Italian actor of film and television. Life and career Guido was born in Castiglioncello, Province of Livorno into a large family. He had three half-brothers. His father was a farmer, who worked on a local farm. His mother was one of the most beautiful women in the town. Before starting his acting career, Mannari was a semi-professional soccer player and played for his local team.
