(School for Music and Dance) formerly is a secondary school (havo) in Rotterdam, Netherlands that specializes in music and dance. It has about 200 pupils from all parts of the country. Millennium Tower (Rotterdam)
Millennium Tower is a 35-story, skyscraper in Rotterdam, Netherlands design by WZMH Architects and AGS Architecten. It was completed in 2000. The tower was built on Weena in front of the Central station. It is mixed use, the first 15 floors belong to the Rotterdam Marriott Hotel, including 2 restaurant, the other floor are being used as offices. Construction The tower was originally designed to be built with hollow-core slabs, but close to building start the design was changed to incorporate the BubbleDeck system. This was the first time this new method was in use in the Netherlands, and also the first major project worldwide to incorporate this technique. John Floore (21 July 1945 – 5 December 2020) was a trumpeter from the Netherlands who played with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, was a director of the Rotterdam Conservatory of Music and managed the Limburg Symphony Orchestra before becoming artistic director of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Introdans
Introdans is a dance company based in the city of Arnhem in the Netherlands, established in 1971 by Hans Focking and Ton Wiggers. In 2009 the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science designated Introdans part of the basic national infrastructure. History The company was founded in 1971 by Ton Wiggers, a former dancer, with a few friends who met in his living room in Arnhem. Hendrina Cornelia (Corrie) Hartong (23 February 1906 – 9 August 1991) was a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer in the Netherlands. Biography Hendrina Cornelia Hartong was born in Rotterdam on 23 February 1906. She studied modern dance with Mary Wigman in Dresden. Mary Wigman's '' Ausdruckstanz'' expressionist modern dance style inspired Corrie Hartong and others to start their own dance schools and to develop performances themselves. Between 1928 and 1931 she taught in Chemnitz and Magdeburg. She then returned to Rotterdam to teach. In 1931 Hartong set up the Rotterdam School of Dance along with the German dancer and teacher Gertrud Leistikow, who was 21 years older.
