Haunted (British TV Series)
Haunted was a British supernatural drama series broadcast by ITV (ABC). It ran for eight episodes from 1967–68 and starred Patrick Mower as University lecturer Michael West, who travelled around Britain investigating reported paranormal phenomena. Roger Woddis
Roger Woddis (17 May 1917 – 16 July 1993) was a British writer and humorous poet. One of his most famous poems, ''Ethics for Everyman'', deals with double-morality of ethical principles. His early writing career included some involvement with Unity Theatre, London, where he contributed material to a number of revues. His poetry featured regularly in ''Radio Times'' and other periodicals in the 1970s. During much of the 1980s and early '90s, he had his own weekly poem in the humour magazine ''Punch'': titled "Subverse". This consisted each week of a humorously subversive political poem, often dealing with recent events. He was also ''New Statesmans weekly poet from 1970 until months before his death, following in the footsteps of 'Macflecknoe'; ' Sagittarius' (Olga Katzin); and Reginald Reynolds; and succeeded by Bill Greenwell. Michael Apted
Michael David Apted, (10 February 1941 – 7 January 2021) was a British television and film director and producer. Apted began working in television and directed the '' Up'' documentary series (1964–2019). He later directed '' Coal Miner's Daughter'' (1980), which was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture. His subsequent work included ''Gorillas in the Mist'' (1988), ''Nell'' (1994), ''James Bond'' film ''The World Is Not Enough'' (1999), and ''Enigma'' (2001). His film ''Amazing Grace'' (2006) premiered at the closing of the Toronto International Film Festival that year. Patrick Mower
Patrick Mower (born Patrick Archibald Shaw; 12 September 1938) is an English actor who has portrayed the role of Rodney Blackstock in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'' since 2000. As well as portraying Rodney, Mower has appeared in various films and television series, including '' Swizzlewick'', ''The Devil Rides Out'', ''Callan'', and ''Special Branch''. ITV (TV Network)
ITV is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network. It was launched in 1955 as Independent Television to provide competition to BBC Television (established in 1936). ITV is the oldest commercial network in the UK. Since the passing of the Broadcasting Act 1990, it has been legally known as Channel 3 to distinguish it from the other analogue channels at the time, BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4. Common reasons for loss A significant proportion of early television programming was never recorded in the first place. Early broadcasting in all genres was live and sometimes performed repeatedly. Due to there being no means to record the broadcast or, later, because the content itself was thought to have little monetary or historical value it was not deemed necessary to save it. In the United Kingdom, early programming was lost due to contractual demands by the actors' union to limit the rescreening of performances.
