John Hatley
: Captain John Hatley, RN (c. 1762 – 12 December 1832) was an officer of the British Royal Navy during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Hatley is most noted for being one of the junior officers on board Captain James Cook's third voyage in , aged approximately 14. He later went on to serve in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, receiving promotion after helping to thwart a mutiny in 1797 and later commanding frigates in several campaigns. Military service Hatley, born in approximately 1762, joined the Royal Navy at a young age and in his first posting was attached to Captain James Cook's ship . This vessel had secretly been ordered to search what is now the Alaskan Coast for the Northwest Passage. Johnny Hatley
Johnny Ray Hatley (March 16, 1930 – February 10, 2001) was an American football player and coach, and rodeo performer. He played college football at Baylor, Corpus Christi, Southwest Texas JC and Sul Ross State and was selected in the 16th round (186th overall) of the 1953 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He played one season with the Bears before being traded to the Chicago Cardinals, where he played for two seasons. Hatley was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 1956 but did not play. He then retired from football to become a rodeo performer, winning several competitions and placing thirteenth at the 1959 National Finals. Hatley returned to pro football in 1960, being signed by the Dallas Texans and later being traded to the Denver Broncos. In 1961, he briefly had a stint with the New York Titans. Thomas Marvin Hatley (April 3, 1905 – August 23, 1986), professionally known simply as Marvin Hatley, was an American film composer and musical director, best known for his work for the Hal Roach studio from 1929 until 1940. Hatley wrote many of the musical cues appearing in the ''Our Gang'', ''Laurel and Hardy'', and ''Charley Chase'' films. His most memorable composition is "Dance of the Cuckoos" (also known as "Ku-Ku", or "The Cookoo Song"), which serves as Laurel and Hardy's theme song. He was also the "player piano" (performing off-screen) in ''The Music Box'' (1932).
