Hatayspor Women Basketball is the women basketball section of Hatayspor, a major sports club in Hatay Province, Hatay, Turkey. Women's Basketball Super League
The Women's Basketball Super League ( tr, Kadınlar Basketbol Süper Ligi, KBSL), also known as the Herbalife Nutrition Women's Basketball Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the top women's professional basketball division of the Turkish women's basketball league system. The league was established in 1980 and is organized by the Turkish Basketball Federation. There is also a Turkish Women’s Basketball League (TKBL), the second level in the Turkish women's basketball league system. Fenerbahçe are the most successful team in competition history, having won 16 championship titles to date. Competition system The competition is played in two phases: regular season and playoffs. There are 14 teams in the league and they play against each other twice in the league manner, once at their home and the other away. The 2016-17 Turkish Women's Basketball League is the 37th edition of the top-flight professional women's basketball league in Turkey. Tosyalı Toyo Osmaniye and MBK Doğuş Hastanesi promoted to Turkish Women's Basketball League after 2015-2016 season. On June 10 İstanbul BGD and Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi have merged and it will compete as Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi. Girne Üniversitesi took the spot of the Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi. The 2016–17 EuroLeague Women season is the 21st edition of EuroLeague Women under its current name. The season started on 26 October 2016. Teams Teams were confirmed by FIBA Europe on 22 June 2016.
