Hasanaginica (film)
''Hasanaginica'' (English: ''Hassan-Aga's Wife'') is a 1967 Yugoslav feature film. It was written and directed by Mića Popović based on the motifs of a South Slavic folk ballad of the same name. Plot Zeina is left at home with two children and an elderly servant after her husband, Hasanaga, leaves on military duty. Zeina's brother Murat comes to visit, complaining that the water has washed away his land and asking his sister for money to buy new land from the Kadia of Imot. Zeina is impatiently waiting for Hasanaga. She refuses to go to him when summoned, because of a warning dream. On his return, he throws her out of his house. Zeina is banished and forever separated from her children. Mića Popović
Miodrag "Mića" Popović (23 June 1923 – 23 December 1996) was a Serbian painter, experimental filmmaker and one of the major figures of the Yugoslav Black Wave. Life and work Mića Popović was born on 12 June 1923 in Loznica. He finished grammar school in Belgrade. After the Second World War, most of which he spent in Belgrade working at odd jobs, he enrolled the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1946. He studied under Ivan Tabaković. Together with Bata Mihajlović, Petar Omčikus, Mileta Andrejević, Ljubinka Jovanović, Kosara Bokšan, and Vera Božicković, he went to Zadar in 1947 and formed the famous "Zadar group". After returning to Belgrade, they were forbidden to return to their university studies, as the authorities viewed the work of the Zadar group as subversive, but sometime later, they were all allowed to return except for Popović, who continued to study on his own. Pula Film Festival ( hr, Pulski filmski festival) is an annual Croatian film festival, established in 1954. It is held in a Roman amphitheater known as the Pula Arena. Pula Film Festival is the oldest Croatian film festival and is usually held in the summer, in July or August. Apart from film screenings open to the public, the annual Croatian film industry awards are also traditionally presented at the festival. The awards presented at the festival (called Golden Arenas) are the main national film awards in the country, and they serve as the Croatian equivalent of the American Academy Awards. The festival was originally started in 1954 and within a few years it became the centerpiece event of the Yugoslav film industry, with the first national awards being presented in 1957.
