''Harvest Moon'' is a farm simulation role-playing video game series published by Natsume Inc. The main objective of the games is to rebuild a run-down old farm and turn it into a successful one. Previously, Natsume Inc. published the series '' Bokujō Monogatari'' in North America under the title ''Harvest Moon''. In 2014, Marvelous, the developer and original publisher of the ''Bokujō Monogatari'' series, decided to have their own American division, Xseed Games, take over North American distribution. A role-playing video game (commonly referred to as simply a role-playing game or RPG, as well as a computer role-playing game or CRPG) is a video game genre where the player controls the actions of a character (or several party members) immersed in some well-defined world, usually involving some form of character development by way of recording statistics. Light Of Hope
Light of Hope (LoH) is a project that aims to provide e-learning facilities to rural schools in Bangladesh. LoH provides laptops, projectors, audio-visual e-learning materials, and solar energy systems to schools in remote areas, where there is inadequate infrastructure and limited or no electricity. LoH also provides books and education materials to students in those remote areas. The founders of LoH are BRAC manager Waliullah Bhuiyan and AIUB assistant professors Nasimul Islam Maruf and Asaduzzaman Shoeb. LoH has almost 100 active workers, and has other sub-projects. ''Story of Seasons'', known in Japan as , is a farming simulation video game developed by Marvelous Entertainment for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released in Japan on February 27, 2014, and in North America on March 31, 2015. This was the first game not under the ''Harvest Moon'' franchise title in North America due to Natsume's ownership of the name. The game follows along the same lines as the rest of the series, in which the player takes on the role of a farmer. The player can choose to play as a boy or girl farmer and choose between two difficulties at the beginning of the game. The difficulty can not be changed once chosen by the player. There are a variety of things to do in the game such as producing crops and raising livestock. The game also introduces new characters, including a tiny goddess and a tiny witch. Xseed Games is an American video game company founded by former members of Square Enix USA. It later became a subsidiary of the Japanese game company Marvelous, providing the localization and publishing services for video games and related materials. History In 2007, AQ Interactive, Inc. announced the acquisition of Xseed Games, with share transfer before June. The deal was signed on April 24, and the share transfer was completed on June 26.
