Harry And Tonto
''Harry and Tonto'' is a 1974 road movie written by Paul Mazursky and Josh Greenfeld and directed by Mazursky. It features Art Carney as Harry in an Oscar-winning performance. Tonto is his pet cat. Plot Harry Coombes (Art Carney) is an elderly widower and retired teacher who is evicted from his Upper West Side apartment in New York City because his building is going to be razed to build a parking lot. He initially stays with his eldest son Burt's family in the suburbs, but eventually chooses to travel cross-country with his pet cat Tonto. Initially planning to fly to Chicago, Harry has a problem with airport security checking his cat carrier. He instead boards a long-distance bus. Paul Mazursky
Irwin Lawrence "Paul" Mazursky (April 25, 1930 – June 30, 2014) was an American film director, screenwriter, and actor. Known for his dramatic comedies that often dealt with modern social issues, he was nominated for five Academy Awards: three times for Best Original Screenplay, once for Best Adapted Screenplay, and once for Best Picture for ''An Unmarried Woman'' (1978). Richard Halsey
Richard Halsey (born 1940) is an American film editor with more than 60 credits from 1970 onwards. An alumnus of Hollywood High School, he won an Academy Award for Best Film Editing at the 49th Academy Awards for editing ''Rocky'' with Scott Conrad, also being nominated for one BAFTA and one Emmy Award. He often works with his wife Colleen Halsey and they are credited together. Both have been elected to membership in American Cinema Editors (A.C.E.); Halsey has been a member since 1988. Cliff Norton
Clifford Charles Norton (March 21, 1918 – January 25, 2003) was an American character actor and radio announcer who appeared in various movies and television series over a career spanning four decades. Early years Norton was born in Chicago, and grew-up there, graduating from Senn High School. His early jobs included selling shoes and working as a floorwalker. His first broadcasting experience came as a disc jockey at a radio station there. During World War II he was a bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Career Norton was probably best known as the announcer for Dave Garroway's radio program. Michael Butler (November 26, 1926 – November 7, 2022) was an American theatrical producer best known for bringing the rock musical ''Hair'' from the Public Theater to Broadway in 1968.
