Harry Sharp (cricketer)
Harry Philip Hugh Sharp (6 October 1917 – 15 January 1995) was an English cricketer, cricket coach and scorer. Harry Sharp was born in Kentish Town and played for London Schools. He was spotted by Jack Durston while practising at the Middlesex Indoor School at Acton. Seconded to Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), his duties included rolling the wicket. He joined Middlesex County Cricket Club in 1934 and made his 1st XI debut in 1946. He played in 162 first-class matches as a right-handed batsman before his retirement in 1955. He scored 6,141 runs at an average of 25.80, with 9 hundreds and 30 fifties. He took 59 catches and 50 wickets with his off-spin at an average of 32.56, with a personal best of 5/52. He was awarded his county cap in 1948. His best season was in 1953, when he scored 1,564 runs. Harry Sharp (born 17 December 2002) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Recruited from the Greater Western Victoria Rebels in the NAB League, Sharp was drafted by the Lions with their second selection, pick 43, in the 2020 AFL draft. Harry Clay Sharp
Harry Clay Sharp (1870–1940) was an American medical doctor and eugenicist. While working as a physician at an Indiana state prison around the turn of the 20th century, Sharp performed some of the first vasectomies for the purposes of sterilization, and helped popularize the procedure as an alternative to castration. Sharp was instrumental in the creation of Indiana's 1907 law mandating the sterilization of "confirmed criminals, idiots, imbeciles, and rapists"; this was the first compulsory sterilization law in the United States, and would serve as a model for similar statutes adopted by other states. Harrison Sharp (born 4 April 2001) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Dundee. Club career Sharp made his debut for Dundee coming off the bench in the Scottish Challenge Cup against Elgin City, after keeper Calum Ferrie was sent off during the game. In October 2020, Sharp joined Edinburgh City on a season-long loan. On 7 January 2021, Sharp signed a two-year extension with Dundee, keeping him at the club until 2023. In December 2021, Sharp was listed as an outfield substitute for a Dundee game away to Aberdeen due to a combined injury and COVID-19 crisis within the squad, though spent the entire game on the bench.
