Harry O'Neil
Harold O'Neil is an American psychologist. Career His interest in technology began at Florida State University, where, in the late 1960s, he obtained his degree in experimental psychology, conducting research in their computer-assisted instruction laboratory. He moved to the University of Texas at Austin, where he co-directed their computer-assisted instruction lab and attained tenure. In 1975, O'Neil was recruited to join the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), where he ran a program on computer-based learning, including PLATO IV (the state-of-the-art computer-assisted instruction system with "600 terminals online at the same time"). From 1978 to 1985, O'Neil served in various roles at the US Army Research Institute for Behavioral and Social Sciences (ARI). Self-efficacy
In psychology, self-efficacy is an individual's belief in their capacity to act in the ways necessary to reach specific goals. The concept was originally proposed by the psychologist Albert Bandura. Self-efficacy affects every area of human endeavor.
