''Harry Hill's Real Life Adventures in TV Land'' was a British celebrity comics comic strip, published in '' The Dandy'' between 2010 and 2011, featuring a cartoon-version of comedian Harry Hill, his sidekick, Knitted Character, and often spoofed television celebrities. Initially, it was planned for Harry Hill to feature in the comic's incarnation at that time, ''Dandy Xtreme'', starting in June 2010. However, the strip's debut was delayed after a decision was made to revamp ''The Dandy'', reverting it to a more traditional weekly comic format. The strip eventually began in issue #3508 on 30 October 2010, the first after the revamp, and ran continuously each week until issue #3565 on 14 December 2011. Harry Hill
Matthew Keith Hall (born 1 October 1964), known professionally as Harry Hill, is an English comedian, presenter and writer. He pursued a career in stand-up following years working as a medical doctor, developing an off-beat, energetic performance style that fused elements of surrealism, observational comedy, slapstick, satire and music. When performing, he usually wears browline glasses and a dress shirt with a distinctive oversized collar and cuffs. He won the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer at the 1992 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and began his career in radio and television comedy with the radio series ''Harry Hill's Fruit Corner'' (1993–1997). Nigel Parkinson is a British cartoonist who works for D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd and mainly draws for ''The Beano'' and ''The Dandy''. Desperate Dan
Desperate Dan is a wild west character in the now-defunct Scottish comic magazine ''The Dandy'', and became its mascot. He made his appearance in the first issue which was dated 4 December 1937. He is apparently the world's strongest man, able to lift a cow with one hand. The pillow of his (reinforced) bed is filled with building rubble and his beard is so tough he shaves with a blowtorch. The character was created by Dudley D. Watkins, originally as an outlaw or ‘desperado’ (hence his name), but evolved into a more sympathetic type, using his strength to help the underdog. After Watkins’ death in 1969, the cartoons were drawn by many other artists, principally Ken H. Harrison, though the Watkins canon was often recycled. Bananaman is a fictional character appearing in British comic books. Bananaman is a parody of traditional superheroes, being portrayed as a schoolboy who is transformed into a muscled, caped adult man when he eats a banana. Duncan Scott (comics)
Duncan Scott (died 2021) was a comics artist. He had been working freelance since completing a degree in visual communication in 1999. He has drawn for numerous comics and magazines and his work has appeared in The Beano, The National times, Blue Peter magazine, Disney Explorer magazine, BBC's Learning Is Fun magazine, BeanoMAX, The Dandy and Comic Football. His first artwork for The Beano included illustrations for the Rhyme Time sections (Taking over from Chris McGhie) which was a regular feature in The Beano during the first half of the 2000s, which saw readers send in rhymes. From 2001 he drew "Stripz" for The Beano which were usually a small single panel gag which featured in the comic occasionally filling half a page or more often as a gag at the bottom of a full page strip. A dandy is a man who places particular importance upon physical appearance, refined language, and leisurely hobbies, pursued with the appearance of nonchalance.
