Harry Edwards (Australian Footballer)
Harry Edwards (born 1 October 2000) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the West Coast Eagles in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the West Coast with the 18th draft pick in the 2018 AFL rookie draft. Edwards was drafted as 195cm in height, measured at preseason training as 197cm, grew to 200cm in his second year and now stands 204cm tall. This followed 11cm of growth from 184cm to 195cm at 17 years of age, in his draft year. Early football Edwards played junior football for Mazenod Junior Football Club in Western Australia. He also played for the Swan Districts Football Club in the Western Australian Football League for the 2018 season. He played fifteen games and kicked six goals, at that time playing as a ruckman and forward. Harry Edwards (director)
Harry Edwards (October 11, 1887 - May 26, 1952) was a Canadian-born American film director and actor. He worked in films from the 1910s to the 1950s. Biography He was born in Calgary on 11 October 1887. He once worked for the now largely forgotten L-KO Kompany during the silent era. In his later years at Columbia Pictures, Edwards established a reputation as the studio's worst director. Both Vera Vague and the Three Stooges requested they not work with him. He is best remembered for his long collaboration with comedian Harry Langdon. He worked with Langdon in the 1920s in some of his best short films, and directed one of Langdon's best known films, the feature ''Tramp, Tramp, Tramp'' (1926). Langdon later became swell-headed with success and later dispensed with Edwards and Frank Capra, who also directed some of Langdon's most successful films, deciding he could direct himself. Henry Edwards (27 August 1827 – 9 June 1891), known as "Harry", was an English stage actor, writer and entomologist who gained fame in Australia, San Francisco and New York City for his theatre work. Edwards was drawn to the theatre early in life, and he appeared in amateur productions in London. After sailing to Australia, Edwards appeared professionally in Shakespearean plays and light comedies primarily in Melbourne and Sydney. Throughout his childhood in England and his acting career in Australia, he was greatly interested in collecting insects, and the National Museum of Victoria used the results of his Australian fieldwork as part of the genesis of their collection. Henry Ross Edwards (1870 – after 1899) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Small Heath. Edwards was born in Coventry, Warwickshire. An inside forward, he attracted the attention of the Small Heath club, whose scout went to watch him playing for Singer's; they signed him, together with his more impressive teammate Frank Mobley, who went on to score 64 goals in four seasons for Small Heath. Harry James Edwards (29 May 1893 – 7 December 1976) was a self-proclaimed spiritual healer, teacher and author who had a career of nearly 40 years. Early years Born in Islington, London as one of nine children, Harry Edwards was the son of printer and a dressmaker. In 1905, aged 12, Edwards joined the London Diocese Church Lads Brigade. In 1907 he left school and began a seven-year apprenticeship to a printer. He completed his Ph.D. at Cornell University and is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. Harry Francis Vincent Edward (15 April 1898 – 8 July 1973) was a British runner. He competed in the 100 and 200 m 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp and won bronze medals in both events, becoming the first black person to gain Olympic medals. He injured himself during the 200 m final and therefore withdrew from the 4 × 100 m relay. Within the UK Edward won the AAA championships in the 100 yd and 220 yd in 1920–1922, and in 1922 also took the 440 yd title. Personal life The only son of a Guyanese father and German mother, a Prussian piano teacher, Edward was raised in Germany.
