"Word Up!" is a funk and R&B song originally recorded by American funk band Cameo in 1986. It was released as the first single from their twelfth album, '' Word Up!'' (1986). The song was written by band members Larry Blackmon and Tomi Jenkins. Its frequent airing on American dance, R&B, and contemporary hit radio, as well as its MTV music video (in which LeVar Burton appears as a police detective trying to arrest the band), helped the single become the band's best known hit. 59 Times the Pain was a Swedish hardcore punk band. They were active from 1992 until 2001. The band was formed in Fagersta, Sweden in 1992 by Magnus Larnhed (Vocals / guitar), Michael Conradsson ( bass), Toni Virtanen (drums) and Kai Kalliomäki (guitar). Their band name is taken from a Hüsker Dü song. Kalliomäki soon left the band to be replaced by Niklas Lundgren, who left hardcore band "Dislars" later to become the more known Burst. Their first demo "Feeling Down" got some attention from Burning Heart Records, and in 1993, the band signed to the label. The Go Set are a five-piece punk rock band, which were formed in 2003 in Geelong by founding mainstays, Justin Keenan, on vocals and guitar, and Mark Moran on bass guitar. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Punk rock in California, Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant History of the hippie movement, hippie cultural climate of the time.
