Harare International Conference Center (HICC) is an events venue in Zimbabwe, known for hosting major events in the country. The venue is at the Rainbow Towers Hotel administered by Rainbow Towers Group. The main conferencing auditorium has capacity of 4500 seats and indoor floor space of 5000sqm which can host up to 128 exhibition stands. The Herald (Zimbabwe)
''The Herald'' is a state-owned daily newspaper published in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. History Origins The newspaper's origins date back to the 19th century. Its forerunner was launched on 27 June 1891 by William Fairbridge for the Argus group of South Africa. Named the ''Mashonaland Herald and Zambesian Times'', it was a weekly, hand-written news sheet produced using the cyclostyle duplicating process. In October the following year it became a printed newspaper and changed its name to ''The Rhodesia Herald''. The Argus group later set up a subsidiary called the Rhodesian Printing and Publishing Company to run its newspapers in what was then Southern Rhodesia. After the white minority Rhodesian Front government unilaterally declared independence on 11 November 1965, it started censoring ''The Rhodesia Herald''. Joseph Lewis Thomas (born July 5, 1972), known mononymously as Joe, is an American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer. Born and raised in Ashburn, Georgia, he later relocated to Atlanta and signed a record deal with Polygram Records in 1992. He rose to prominence after releasing his debut album ''Everything'' the following year. Clifford Smith (born December 29th, 1974), better known as Mr. Vegas, is a Jamaican dancehall musician. Oliver Mtukudzi
Oliver "Tuku" Mtukudzi (22 September 1952 – 23 January 2019) was a Zimbabwean musician, businessman, philanthropist, human rights activist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Southern Africa Region. Career Mtukudzi grew up in Highfield, a poor neighborhood in Salisbury (modern-day Harare) in Southern Rhodesia. He began performing in 1977 when he joined the Wagon Wheels, a band that also featured Thomas Mapfumo and fellow guitarist James Chimombe. They were given the rare opportunity by Paul Tangi Mhova Mkondo, an African nationalist and music promotor, who provided money and resources to the group. He allowed them to perform at Club Mutanga (Pungwe) which, at the time, was the only night club available for blacks under Rhodesia's policy of segregation. Winky D
Winky D (born Wallace Chirumiko,1 February 1983) is a Zimbabwean reggae-dancehall artist, known popularly as "The Big Man" (stylized as "Di Bigman"), and also known as Dancehall Igwe, Gaffa, Ninja President, Proffessor, Extraterrestrial (stylized as ChiExtra) etc. He is often considered the Zimdancehall pioneer and one of the most accomplished modern Zimbabwean music artists. Not much is known about his wife but he in a few songs has mentioned his child's name Tayenda. The gaffas have continued to defend him about this issue claiming that it could be because of the respect he has for his family that he keeps them far from drama.
