Haploclastus Kayi
''Haploclastus'' is a genus of Indian tarantulas that was first described by Eugène Louis Simon in 1892. It is considered a senior synonym of ''Phlogiodes''. Diagnosis They can be distinguished by the deep and procured fovea, with horizontal thorn like hairs in two or three rows above and below the maxillary. These hairs have a long tapering, which where modified and aligned vertically in a "diffuse" pattern on the maxilla. Species it contains seven species, found in India: *''Haploclastus cervinus'' Simon, 1892 (type) – India *''Haploclastus devamatha'' Prasanth & Sunil Jose, 2014 – India *'' Haploclastus kayi'' Gravely, 1915 – India *''Haploclastus nilgirinus'' Pocock, 1899 – India *''Haploclastus satyanus'' (Barman, 1978) – India *''Haploclastus tenebrosus'' Gravely, 1935 – India *''Haploclastus validus'' (Pocock, 1899) – India In synonymy *''H. psychedelicus'' (Sanap & Mirza, 2014) = ''Haploclastus devamatha'' *''H. robustus'' (Pocock, 1899) = ''Haploc ...

Type Species
In zoological nomenclature, a type species (''species typica'') is the species name with which the name of a genus or subgenus is considered to be permanently taxonomically associated, i.e., the species that contains the biological type specimen(s). Article 67.1 A similar concept is used for suprageneric groups and called a type genus. In botanical nomenclature, these terms have no formal standing under the code of nomenclature, but are sometimes borrowed from zoological nomenclature. In botany, the type of a genus name is a specimen (or, rarely, an illustration) which is also the type of a species name. The species name that has that type can also be referred to as the type of the genus name. Names of genus and family ranks, the various subdivisions of those ranks, and some higher-rank names based on genus names, have such types.

Theraphosidae Genera
Tarantulas comprise a group of large and often hairy spiders of the family Theraphosidae. , 1,040 species have been identified, with 156 genera. The term "tarantula" is usually used to describe members of the family Theraphosidae, although many other members of the same infraorder (Mygalomorphae) are commonly referred to as "tarantulas" or "false tarantulas". Some of the more common species have become popular in the exotic pet trade. Many New World species kept as pets have setae known as urticating hairs that can cause irritation to the skin, and in extreme cases, cause damage to the eyes. Overview Like all arthropods, the tarantula is an invertebrate that relies on an exoskeleton for muscular support.Pomeroy, R. (2014, February 4). Pub. Chilobrachys Himalayensis
''Chilobrachys'' is a genus of Asian tarantulas that was first described by Ferdinand Anton Franz Karsch in 1892. They are found in India, Myanmar, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Sri Lanka. They are usually medium or large-sized, and they can stridulate by using small spines present on the chelicerae. Diagnosis They have special stridulating organs in their chelicerae, which are made of short spines. Males have a palpal bulb which ends in a long and slender blade like spine, females have one pair of spermathecha. The anterior eyes form almost a straight line. Their legs have a narrower scapulae at the tip of the metatarsus. Species it contains thirty-one species, found in Asia: *''Chilobrachys andersoni'' (Pocock, 1895) – India, Myanmar, Malaysia *''Chilobrachys annandalei'' Simon, 1901 – Malaysia *''Chilobrachys assamensis'' Hirst, 1909 – India *''Chilobrachys bicolor'' (Pocock, 1895) – Myanmar *''Chilobrachys brevipes'' ( Thorell, 1897) – Myanmar *''Ch ...

Eugène Simon
Eugène Louis Simon (; 30 April 1848 – 17 November 1924) was a French naturalist who worked particularly on insects and spiders, but also on birds and plants. He is by far the most prolific spider taxonomist in history, describing over 4,000 species. Work on spiders His most significant work was ''Histoire Naturelle des Araignées'' (1892–1903), an encyclopedic treatment of the spider genera of the world. It was published in two volumes of more than 1000 pages each, and the same number of drawings by Simon. Working at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris, it took Simon 11 years to complete, while working at the same time on devising a taxonomic scheme that embraced the known taxa. Simon described a total of 4,650 species, and as of 2013 about 3,790 species are still considered valid. The International Society of Arachnology offers a Simon Award recognising lifetime achievement. The Eocene fossil spider species '' Cenotextricella simoni'' was named in his ...
