Hans Eberhard Lorenz
Hans Eberhard Lorenz (born 3 March 1951) is a German jurist. Lorenz is Presiding Judge of the criminal division at the Regional Court Mainz. At the 39th Bundestag of the German Football Association in October 2007, Lorenz was elected as Presiding Judge of the DFB Sports Court. This position in the highest controlling body of the German Football Association is voluntary. Lorenz is considered as the "luminary in the DFB sports jurisdiction". A jurist is a person with expert knowledge of law; someone who analyses and comments on law. In Germany, or {{Lang, de, Gerichte der Länder are courts which are established and operated by one or several of the sixteen ''Länder'' of the Federal Republic of Germany. DFB-Bundestag
The DFB-Bundestag (National Conference) is the highest body of the German Football Association (german: Deutscher Fussball-Bund, DFB). As football parliament it is the legislative assembly of the DFB. Structure The DFB-Bundestag convenes regularly every three years. The term of office for DFB presidential board and executive board is also three years. The national conference is composed of a total of 259 voting delegates, including members of the presidential board and executive board, the delegates of the state and regional associations of the DFB and the Deutsche Fußball Liga members. Additionally the honorary members and the members of the judiciary bodies, the statutory auditors and the committees, also participate as advisory capacity. The national conference can make decisions if at least half of the voters are present. The DFB Sports Court (German: DFB-Sportgericht) is a regulatory body in the German Football Association (german: Deutscher Fussball-Bund, DFB) and may adopt different sanctions on clubs and players. History Together with the Bundesliga, the DFB Sports Court was founded in 1963. It hears cases of misconduct by individual players, clubs or spectators.
