Hanni Bjartalíð
Hanni Julius Bjartalíð (born 1968) is a Faroe Islands, Faroese painter. Born in Klaksvík, he attended art school in Kokkola in Finland. He has held exhibitions in the Faroe Islands, Denmark, Finland, Germany and has featured in Biennial shows in the United Kingdom. He is currently living in Helsinki, Finland. Originally a painter he has been compared to the Italian Arte Povera artists by using found materials close at hand. Bjartalíð recycles his canvases to such an extent that they are almost always heavy with paint, even the small paintings. The majority of his work now takes the form of 3d sculptures created from found materials. Just as with his paintings Bjartalíð recycles his sculptural objects often reusing parts from works shown in exhibitions to create new, larger works. Hanni Ehlers (born 2 August 1954, Eutin) is a German translator known for translating English and Dutch literature into German. Career Ehlers has translated books written by numerous Dutch authors, including Renate Dorrestein, Guus Kuijer, Joke van Leeuwen, Connie Palmen and Els Pelgrom. Other authors include Carli Biessels, Jessica Durlacher, Anna Enquist, Nelleke Noordervliet and Leon de Winter. In 2006, she received the Else-Otten-Übersetzerpreis for her translation ''Ganz der Ihre'' of Connie Palmen's book ''Geheel de uwe''. Early life Johannes-Andreas Hanni was born in Valga in Soviet Estonia, and grew up in a family of devout Baptists. Hanni served as leader of the Reform Party of BC from August 30, 1997 to June 1998, and later as leader of the British Columbia Party, and the BC Conservative Party. He was the leader of the Christian Heritage Party of BC until 2013 when he stepped down due to family health issues.
