HandMade Films
HandMade Films was a British film production and distribution company. Notable films from the studio include ''Monty Python's Life of Brian'', ''Time Bandits'', ''The Long Good Friday'' and ''Withnail and I''. History Foundation HandMade Films was formed by former Beatle George Harrison and business partner Denis O'Brien in 1978 to finance the controversial Monty Python film ''Life of Brian''. Harrison had been introduced to O'Brien by actor Peter Sellers in 1973. Soon afterward the two went into business together. When the original financiers of ''Brian'', EMI Films, pulled out of the project less than a week before filming was to commence, the creators had to find other financing. Harrison, a friend and fan of the Pythons, mortgaged his home in order to finance the feature. Eric Idle of the Pythons later called it "the most anybody's ever paid for a cinema ticket in history". Wookey Hole
Wookey Hole is a village in Somerset, England. It is the location of the Wookey Hole show caves. Location Wookey Hole is located in the civil parish of St Cuthbert Out, in Mendip District. ''The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne'' is a 1987 British drama film made by HandMade Films Ltd. and United British Artists (UBA) starring Maggie Smith and Bob Hoskins. A cameo role, also called a cameo appearance and often shortened to just cameo (), is a brief appearance of a well-known person in a work of the performing arts. ''Shanghai Surprise'' is a 1986 adventure comedy film directed by Jim Goddard and starring then-newlyweds Sean Penn and Madonna. The screenplay was adapted by John Kohn and Robert Bentley from Tony Kenrick's 1978 novel ''Faraday's Flowers''. "Dream Away" (Japanese: , ''O Ra I Na E'') is a song by English rock musician George Harrison from his tenth studio album ''Gone Troppo'' (1982). The song was featured over the end credits of Harrison's 1981 HandMade Films production ''Time Bandits'', which was director Terry Gilliam's first successful film outside of his work with Monty Python. Aside from the film's orchestral score, it was the only song featured in ''Time Bandits'' and was written specifically for the film.
