Handball At The 2015 Pan American Games – Women's Tournament
The women's handball tournament at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada was held at the Exhibition Centre (in Hall B) from July 16 to 24. For these Games, the women competed in an 8-team tournament. The teams were grouped into two pools of four teams each for a round-robin preliminary round. The top two teams in each group advanced to a single elimination bracket. Brazil were the defending champions from the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, defeating Argentina, 33–15 in the final. The winner of the tournament were to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, while the 2nd and the 3rd place (due to the continental rankings at the World Championship) qualified for the Olympic Qualification Tournament. Direct Energy Centre
The Enercare Centre, formerly known as the Direct Energy Centre and originally the National Trade Centre, is an exhibition complex located at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is used by the Canadian National Exhibition and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, as well as by various trade shows. In 2015, it hosted several sport competitions and the broadcasting centre for the 2015 Pan American Games. Handball At The 2014 South American Games
The Handball Competitions at the 2014 South American Games took place at the Polideportivo Viña in Viña del Mar, Chile from March 7 to 16. There were two competitions, one each for men and women, each with five national teams competing. Brazil is the defending champion for the men's competition while Argentina is in the women's competitions. Beard–Eaves–Memorial Coliseum is a 10,500-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. The arena, which opened in 1969, is best known as the former home of the Auburn men's and women's basketball, women's gymnastics, and wrestling teams. The teams finished their stays at the facility at the end of the 2009–10 season, with all of its tenants moving into the new Auburn Arena opening in time for the 2010–11 season. In addition to sports, numerous concerts were held in the facility. The coliseum continues to house athletics offices as well as classrooms and office space for Auburn's Department of Geosciences. The Pan-American Team Handball Federation (PATHF) has been the continental governing body for handball, beach handball, wheelchair handball and snow handball in Americas since 23 May 1977.
