Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi ( ar, عبدربه منصور هادي, translit=ʿAbd Rabbih Manṣūr Hādī Yemeni pronunciation: ; born 1 September 1945) is a Yemeni politician and former field marshal of the Yemeni Armed Forces who served as the president of Yemen from 2012 until 2022, when he stepped down and transferred executive authority to the Presidential Leadership Council, with Rashad al-Alimi as its chairman. He was the vice president to Ali Abdullah Saleh from 1994 to 2012. Between 4 June and 23 September 2011, Hadi was the acting president of Yemen while Ali Abdullah Saleh was undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia following an attack on the presidential palace during the 2011 Yemeni uprising. Hamoud Al-Hitar (b. circa 1955) is a Yemeni judge. He served as minister of Ministry of Endowments and Guidance, Minister of Religious Endowments and Guidance from 2008 to 2011. He is notable for leading a Yemeni jihadist rehabilitation program, called the "Committee for Religious Dialogue". According to a ''Newsweek'' article, Al-Hitar was an admirer of Egyptian leader Gamal Abdul Nasser in his youth. He joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1972, but left it in early 1980s after he became a judge. ''Newsweek'' reported that when he adjudicated the case of the murder of two Yemeni Jews in 1984 he received death threats when he broke an unspoken tradition that judges not impose the death penalty for the killers of Jews. The Saba News Agency (SABA), also known as the Yemen News Agency, is the official state news agency of Yemen. History and profile SABA was founded on 16 November 1970 as the official news agency of North Yemen, and is headquartered in the capital Sana'a. On 22 May 1990, the agency was merged with the Aden News Agency (ANA) of South Yemen to create the Yemen News Agency Saba. The agency provides news on the Middle East and region. It is a member of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA). Yemeni Civil War On 19 January 2015, the Houthis seized the agency.
