Haifa Naval Base
The Haifa naval base is a base of Israeli Navy, located in Haifa, Israel, and constitutes the main naval base of the Israel Defense Forces. The base is the hub of Israel's naval force. The naval base has submarines, missile boats and other vessels. On 28 November 2011, Brigadier General Eli Sharvit, was appointed as commander of the Haifa Naval Base. The Israeli Navy ( he, חיל הים הישראלי, ''Ḥeil HaYam HaYisraeli'' (English: The Israeli Sea Corps); ar, البحرية الإسرائيلية) is the naval warfare service arm of the Israel Defense Forces, operating primarily in the Mediterranean Sea theater as well as the Gulf of Eilat and the Red Sea theater. Haifa ( he, חֵיפָה ' ; ar, حَيْفَا ') is the third-largest city in Israel—after Jerusalem and Tel Aviv—with a population of in . Submarines

Missile Boats
A missile boat or missile cutter is a small, fast warship armed with anti-ship missiles. Being smaller than other warships such as destroyers and frigates, missile boats are popular with nations interested in forming a navy at lower cost. They are similar in concept to the torpedo boats of World War II; in fact, the first missile boats were modified torpedo boats with the torpedo tubes replaced by missile tubes. The doctrine behind the use of missile boats is based on the principle of mobility over defence and firepower. Eli Sharvit
Aluf Eli Sharvit is a general in the Israel Defense Forces who served as the Commander of the Israeli Navy between 2016 and 2021. Life and career Sharvit was born on kibbutz Sde Boker and grew up in Beersheba. He was one of three children born to Yosef and Esther Sharvit, History of the Jews in Morocco, Moroccan Jewish immigrants to Israel. He attended the Makif Alef school in Beersheba. He is married to Eti and the father of three children. Sharvit was conscripted into the Israel Defense Forces in 1985 and joined the Israeli Navy. He remained in the navy as an officer after his mandatory service. Sharvit served in numerous positions and later headed the navy's missile boat fleet in 2009.
