Haeco-CSG
The Haeco-CSG or ''Holzer Audio Engineering-Compatible Stereo Generator'' system was an analog electronic device developed by Howard Holzer, Chief Engineer at A&M Records in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, Hollywood, California. His company, Holzer Audio Engineering, developed the system in the 1960s during the years of transition from monaural, mono to stereophonic sound in popular music recording. The process was used primarily from about 1968 until 1970 but still exists on a significant number of recordings made during the time. Reasons for using the system The Haeco-CSG process was designed to make stereophonic Gramophone record, vinyl LP album, LP Gramophone record, records compatible with mono playback equipment. These recordings were intended to make the two-channel stereo mix automatically "fold-down" properly to a single mono channel. Neil Young (album)
''Neil Young'' is the debut studio album by Canadian / American musician Neil Young following his departure from Buffalo Springfield in 1968, issued on Reprise Records, catalogue number RS 6317. The album was first released on November 12th 1968 in the so-called 'CSG mix'. It was then partially remixed and re-released in late summer 1969, but at no time has the album ever charted on the Billboard 200. Release history The first release of the album used the Haeco-CSG encoding system. This technology was intended to make stereo records compatible with mono record players, but had the unfortunate side effect of degrading the sound. Young was unhappy with the first release. "The first mix was awful", he was reported as saying in Cash Box of September 6, 1969. "I was trying to bury my voice, because I didn't like the way it sounded". ''Wheels of Fire'' is the third album by the British rock band Cream. It was released in the US in June 1968 as a two-disc vinyl LP, with one disc recorded in the studio and the other recorded live. It was released in the UK on August 9. It reached number three in the United Kingdom and number one in the United States, Canada and Australia, becoming the world's first platinum-selling double album. In May 2012, ''Rolling Stone'' magazine ranked it at number 205 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Greatest Hits (The Association Album)
''Greatest Hits'' is the first compilation album by The Association, released in 1968 by Warner Bros. Records. The album peaked at #4 on the ''Billboard'' 200 album chart. In Canada the album reached #2 and was in the top 10 for 13 weeks. The RIAA certified the album 2× Platinum on June 1, 1989. The autobiographical tune "Six Man Band", written by Terry Kirkman, was a new song which had also been released as a mono single in July 1968, then appeared in a stereo mix on this album. The version of "Enter the Young" that is on this collection is a re-recording of a track from their first LP. Despite the title, the album does not include the singles "Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies" (which charted at #35 in late 1966) or "Looking Glass" (which was a regional hit), using non-hits such as "Like Always" and "We Love Us" instead. Sérgio Santos Mendes (; born February 11, 1941) is a Brazilian musician. His career took off with worldwide hits by his group Brasil '66. He has over 55 releases and plays bossa nova heavily crossed with jazz and funk. He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song in 2012 as co-writer of the song "Real in Rio" from the animated film ''Rio''. Cream (band)
Cream were a British rock band formed in London in 1966. The group consisted of bassist Jack Bruce, guitarist Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker.
