History of the company Haden Appliances, formerly a British motorcycle brand from Birmingham, A.H. Haden Motorcycles became “Haden Bros” after Donald William Haden and Denis Howard Haden, took over the business after 1937. Haden, as the appliance brand was founded in 1958 after Denis Howard Haden founded his own, separate company, D.H. Haden Ltd. to focus his efforts on manufacturing kettles. Haden was purchased by Pifco in the year 2000, and production at the company's Lichfield factory ceased the following year. After Pifco was itself taken over later in 2001, the brand fell under the ownership of US companies Salton Group and Spectrum Brands Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. is an American diversified company. Haden (motorcycle)
A.H. Haden Motorcycles was a British motorcycle marque from Birmingham. Haden was originally a bicycle-making business in Hockley, Birmingham, begun in the late 1880s, after the safety bicycle was introduced. The business passed from George Joseph Haden to his son Alfred Hamlet Haden, who continued making bicycles from 1902 until 1912. They began manufacturing motorcycles in about 1906, and went into more extensive motorcycle production shortly before the First World War, when in 1913 A. H. Haden bought the Regal motorcycle company. The Haden marque was best known from 1912–1924. The main motorcycle was marketed under the Haden name as the "New Comet", and it was a long-standing independent brand. It used parts from Villiers, PeCo, JAP, Precision, and Climax, and was entered in the Isle of Man TT races in 1920 (10th place) and 1921. A kettle, sometimes called a tea kettle or teakettle, is a type of pot specialized for boiling water, commonly with a ''lid'', ''spout'', and ''handle'', or a small electric kitchen appliance of similar shape that functions in a self-contained manner. Kettles can be heated either by placing on a stove, or by their own internal electric heating element in the appliance versions. As indicated by its name, the kettle was and is often used as teaware to brew tea or prepare a tisane. Some very modern versions do more than just boil water, and also make the tea and keep it warm. Pifco
Pifco (sometimes rendered PIFCO) is a British electrical goods brand name, brand and a former manufacturer of small domestic appliances. Founding and growth Provincial Incandescent Fittings Co. was established in 1900 by Joseph Webber, who opened a single lock-up shop in Failsworth, Manchester. Formed as a public company, limited company in 1902, the company initially sold gas lighting appliances and accessories such as burners and gas mantle, mantles. Russell Hobbs, Inc. (formerly Salton, Inc.), was an American company based in Florida which manufactured home appliances, most notably the George Foreman grill and Russell Hobbs appliances. In June 2010, Russell Hobbs, Inc. was taken over by and became part of Spectrum Brands. Company history Its headquarters were in Miramar, Florida. The company was founded in 1947 by Lou Salton, a Jewish immigrant from Poland.
