HK Alfa (Sarajevo)
HK Medvjedi, previously HK Alfa, is an ice hockey club from Sarajevo, Bosnia. The club was founded in 2003 and plays in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League. History HK Alfa was founded in 2003 but did not enter an active league until 2009 when they joined the Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League which had returned after a six year hiatus. HK Alfa finished the 2009–10 regular season in last place, winning only three of their ten games. During the season the team played under the name of Medvjedi iz Novog Sarajeva. HK Ajkule Ilidža 2010 is an ice hockey team in Ilidža, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The team was founded in 2002, and plays in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League. Despite being from Ilidža, the club plays its games at Olympic Hall Zetra, in Sarajevo. History HK Ajkule Ilidža 2010 was founded in 2002 as HK Ilidža 2010 and joined the Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League to compete in its inaugural season. HK Ilidža 2010 finished second in the 2002–03 regular season standings and qualified for the best of three playoffs with first place finisher HK Bosna. 2011–12 Bosnia And Herzegovina Hockey League Season
The 2011–12 Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League is the 4th season of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League (BHHL). It started on January 9, 2012. League business Prior to the start of the 2011–12 season it was announced that HK Bosna and left the league to play in the newly formed Open Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an international league with teams from Bulgaria, Greece, and the Republic of Macedonia. HK Ilidža 2010 was renamed HK Ajkule Ilidža 2010 for the season and also changed their team logo. All games will again be played in Sarajevo at the Olympic Hall Zetra, now known as Olympic Hall Juan Antonio Samaranch. Each team will play ten games for the season before the playoff. The Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League (BHL) is the top league for ice hockey in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is organized by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ice Hockey Federation. History Hockey developed slowly in Bosnia and Herzegovina, all of it being concentrated in Sarajevo. By the later 1980s, one team, HK Bosna, made it to the Yugoslav Hockey League. With the end of Yugoslavia came the end of hockey in the country, for some time. War and economic difficulties prevented the organization/formation of a league for some time. The first season of the league was held in 2002–03, with four teams. After the season three teams simply were not able to remain active. The 2010–11 Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League was the 3rd season of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Hockey League (BHL).
