H.F. Barrows Manufacturing Company Building
The H.F. Barrows Manufacturing Company Building, now the North Attleborough Police Station, is a historic industrial building in North Attleborough, Massachusetts. The elegant brick building was built in 1905–06, and was home for many years to one of the town's most successful jewelry businesses. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. Today the building serves as the headquarters for the North Attleborough Police Department. Description and history The former Barrows factory is located at the northeast corner of South Washington Street and Chestnut Street, at the southern end of North Attleborough's downtown area. It is a two-story brick structure with granite trim, a clock tower placed prominently at the street corner, and single-story wings extending along the two streets, giving the building an overall L shape. North Attleborough, Massachusetts
North Attleborough, alternatively spelled North Attleboro, is a town in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 30,834 at the 2020 United States Census. The villages of Attleboro Falls and North Attleborough Center are located in the town. History In pre-Colonial times, the land was the site of the Bay Path, a major Native American trail to Narragansett Bay, the Seekonk River, and Boston. English settlers arrived in the area in 1634 and established the settlement of Rehoboth—which included the modern day towns of North Attleborough, Attleboro, Somerset, Seekonk, as well as parts of Rhode Island—from land sold to them by the Pokanoket Wamsutta. Attleboro is a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. It was once known as "The Jewelry Capital of the World" for its many jewelry manufacturers. According to the 2020 census, Attleboro had a population of 46,461. Attleboro is located about west of Taunton, 10 miles north of Providence, northwest of Fall River, and south of Boston. History In 1634, English settlers first arrived in the territory that is now Attleboro. The deed that granted them the land was written by Native American Wamsutta. The land was divided in 1694 as the town of Attleborough. It included the towns of Cumberland, Rhode Island, until 1747 and North Attleborough, Massachusetts, until 1887. Lincoln is a town in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. The population was 22,529 at the 2020 census. Lincoln is located in northeastern Rhode Island, north of Providence.
