Gąski, Koszalin County
Gąski (german: Funkenhagen) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Mielno, within Koszalin County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland. It lies approximately west of Koszalin and north-east of the regional capital Szczecin. It is located on the Slovincian Coast. The village has a population of 400. Gąski is one of the most popular tourists' destination on Polish coast for its beautiful beaches and nature, aiming at sustainable development. Nuclear power station As a result of intense civic mobilisation, a referendum was held in February 2012, in which 94% of the citizens of Mielno voted against the building of a nuclear power station in the village of Gąski. Mielno
Mielno (german: Groß Möllen or ) is a resort town in Koszalin County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Mielno. It lies approximately north-west of Koszalin and north-east of the regional capital Szczecin. The town has a population of 3,200. Mielno is a well-known tourist destination with sandy beaches on the Baltic Sea coast. It lies on a spit between the sea and the large Jamno lake. It is contiguous with the neighbouring resort of Unieście. Gąski Lighthouse
Gąski Lighthouse (Polish: ''Latarnia morska Gąski'') is a lighthouse located in Gąski, on the Polish coast of the Baltic Sea. The lighthouse is located in Gąski, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Poland. History The lighthouse is located about 100 metres from the coast of the Baltic Sea; situated next to the road between Ustronie Morskie and Mielno. The construction of the lighthouse began in 1876 and was completed about two years later, in 1878. Built from red bricks, the lighthouse has a height of 41.2 metres, with the lighthouse's light having a focal height of 50.1 metres. Originally it was fitted with a Fresnel lens with the light source provided by kerosene lamps. The intermittent beam was achieved by three screens rotated by a clock-work mechanism. Czesław Hoc (born 22 February 1954) is a Polish politician. He was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005, getting 10,746 votes in the 40-Koszalin district, as a candidate of the Law and Justice. Law and Justice ( pl, Prawo i Sprawiedliwość , PiS) is a right-wing populist and national-conservative political party in Poland. Its chairman is Jarosław Kaczyński.
