Günter Lamprecht
Günter Hans Lamprecht (21 January 1930 – 4 October 2022) was a German film and stage actor, best-known internationally for his leading role in the Fassbinder miniseries '' Berlin Alexanderplatz'' (1980) and as a ship captain in the epic war film ''Das Boot'' (1981). Life and career Lamprecht was born in Berlin, the son of a taxi driver. After training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar, he had his first theatre engagement at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. He joined the Theater Oberhausen in 1959, and remained with them until 1961. His roles there included Stanley Kowalski in ''A Streetcar Named Desire'' and John in Gerhart Hauptmann's '' The Rats''. Lamprecht began appearing on television in the 1960s. He was cast in the series ''Kara Ben Nemsi Effendi'', which ran from 1973 to 1975. His first film role was in Ottokar Runze's ' (1975). ''Kara Ben Nemsi Effendi'' is a German television series broadcast from 1973 through 1975 in 26 parts and two seasons. It featured an adventurer probably inspired by British explorers Richard Francis Burton (1821–1890) and T. E. Lawrence. The scripts were faithful to Karl May's Orient novels, and the score is from Martin Böttcher who previously had composed the music for ten very successful Karl May films in cinema, and also for the two parts of '' Winnetous Rückkehr'' in 1998, also being aired by the German station ZDF. Alexander Lvovich Parvus, born Israel Lazarevich Gelfand (8 September 1867 – 12 December 1924) and sometimes called Helphand in the literature on the Russian Revolution, was a Marxist theoretician, publicist, and controversial activist in the Social Democratic Party of Germany. Biography Early life Israel Lazarevich Gelfand was born to a Lithuanian Jewish family on 8 September 1867 in the shtetl of Berazino in the Russian Empire, (in present-day Belarus). Although little is known of Israel's early childhood, the Gelfand family belonged to the lower-middle class, with his father working as an artisan of some sort — perhaps as a locksmith or as a blacksmith. ''Martha'' is a 1974 drama film made for German television directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. It features Margit Carstensen in the title role with Karlheinz Böhm as her abusive husband. It is one of the earliest of Fassbinder's films to be influenced by the American work of Douglas Sirk. The plot was loosely based on a short story "For the Rest of Her Life" by Cornell Woolrich. Martin Peyerl (11 August 1983 – 1 November 1999) was a German student who, on 1 November 1999 (the day of All Saints), fired from his bedroom window, killing four people and wounding seven others before committing suicide.
