Győr railway station ( hu, Győr vasútállomás) is the main railway station in Győr, Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Hungary. The station opened on 24 December 1855. The station is located on the main line between Vienna and Budapest (Line 1 Budapest–Hegyeshalom railway) and Line 8 Győr–Sopron railway, Line 10 Győr–Celldömölk railway and Line 11 Győr–Veszprém railway. Győr ( , ; german: Raab, links=no; names of European cities in different languages: E-H#G, names in other languages) is the main city of northwest Hungary, the capital of Győr-Moson-Sopron County and Western Transdanubia, Western Transdanubia region, and – halfway between Budapest and Vienna – situated on one of the important roads of Central Europe. In Germany, Luxembourg and Austria, the Regional-Express (RE, or in Austria: REX) is a type of regional train. It is similar to a semi-fast train, with average speed at about 70–90 km/h (top speed often 160 km/h) as it calls at fewer stations than '' Regionalbahn'' or S-Bahn trains, but stops more often than ''InterCity'' services.
