György Kozmann
György Kozmann (born March 23, 1978 in Szekszárd) is a Hungarian sprint canoeist who competed since the late 1990s. Competing in two Summer Olympics, he won two bronze medals in the C-2 1000 m event, earning them in 2004 and 2008. He has also won eleven medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with five golds (C-2 500 m: 2007, C-2 1000 m: 2006, C-4 200 m: 2001, 2003, C-4 1000 m: 2001), two silvers (C-2 500 m: 2005, C-4 500 m: 2001), and four bronzes (C-2 500 m: 2006, C-2 1000 m: 2003, 2005; C-4 1000 m: 1999). From 2003 until 2008, he was the C-2 partner of György Kolonics. In the European championships Kozmann has been a gold medalist four times - C-4 500 m (2002), C-4 1000 m (2000 and 2002) and C-2 500 m (2004). 2001 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
The 2001 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships were held in Poznań, Poland at Lake Malta. The Polish city had hosted the event previously in 1990. The men's competition consisted of nine Canadian (single paddle, open boat) and nine kayak events. Women competed in nine events, all kayak. The women's K-4 1000 m event was added at these championships, the last change to the program until a new program was approved for the 2009 event at the 2008 ICF Congress in Rome. This was the 31st championships in canoe sprint. The International Canoe Federation (ICF) is the umbrella organization of all national canoe organizations worldwide. It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and administers all aspects of canoe sport worldwide. 157 countries are affiliated with the ICF after seven national federations were added at the 2008 ICF Congress in Rome. Tamás Kiss (born 9 May 1987 in Ajka) is a Hungarian sprint canoer and marathon canoeist who has competed since the late 2000s. György Kolonics
György "Kolo" Kolonics (4 June 1972 – 15 July 2008) was a Hungarian sprint canoeist who won two gold and two bronze medals at four Summer Olympics. He also won a record fifteen gold medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships. He died from cardiac arrest while preparing for his fifth Olympics. Sporting career Kolonics started canoeing at the Budapesti Spartacus sport club, but soon moved to Csepel SC and remained at the club for his entire career. He first represented Hungary at the 1991 World Championships, and achieved a fifth and the sixth place in the C-4 events. At the 1992 Summer Olympics he achieved a fifth and the seventh place in the C-2 events with Attila Pálizs. After the 1992 Olympics he teamed up with Csaba Horváth, and the pair dominated the doubles for several years.
