Gyumri Technology Center (formerly known as Gyumri TechnoPark; hy, Գյումրու տեխնոլոգիական կենտրոն), is a technological center for IT development in Gyumri, the second-largest city in Armenia Armenia (), , group=pron officially the Republic of Armenia,, is a landlocked country in the Armenian Highlands of Western Asia.The UNbr>classification of world regions places Armenia in Western Asia; the CIA World Factbook , , and ''Ox .... It was opened on 13 September 2014. The project aims at promoting the prosperity of the city of Gyumri, turning it into a technology zone with advanced IT infrastructures. The project is carried out by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia. US $ 1.7 million was allocated from the state budget to fulfill the project. The technological center was founded as a result of the cooperation between the Armenian government, Enterprise Incubator Foundation and the World Bank. Gyumri
Gyumri ( hy, Գյումրի, ) is an urban municipal community and the second-largest city in Armenia, serving as the administrative center of Shirak Province in the northwestern part of the country. By the end of the 19th century, when the city was known as Alexandropol,; hy, Ալեքսանդրապոլ it became the largest city of Russian-ruled Eastern Armenia with a population above that of Yerevan. The city became renown as a cultural hub, while also carrying significance as a major center of Russian troops during Russo-Turkish wars of the 19th century. Shirak Province
Shirak ( hy, wikt:Շիրակ, Շիրակ, ) is a provinces of Armenia, province (''Administrative divisions of Armenia, marz'') of Armenia.
