Gympie Arterial Road
The Gympie Arterial Road is a freeway in the northern suburbs of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. The road starts in Carseldine, Queensland, Carseldine at Gympie Road and terminates at the Gateway Motorway where it becomes the Bruce Highway. It is three lanes in each direction from Carseldine to the Strathpine Road intersection, and two lanes to the Gateway Motorway. In 2000, a lane duplication was completed and an exit lane was closed at the Strathpine Road off-ramp, with 2 new lanes opened along with traffic lights in its place. Upgrades Strathpine Road intersection A project to improve the intersection with Strathpine Road, at a cost of $30 million, was under construction in April 2022. Linkfield Road intersection A project to upgrade the Linkfield Road intersection, at a cost of $125 million, was starting the design stage early in 2022. Bruce Highway
The Bruce Highway is a major highway in Queensland, Australia. Commencing in the state capital, Brisbane, it passes through areas close to the eastern coast on its way to Cairns in Far North Queensland. The route is part of the Australian National Highway and also part of Highway 1, the longest highway route in Australia. Its length is approximately ; it is entirely sealed with bitumen. The highway is named after a popular former Queensland and federal politician, Harry Bruce. Bruce was the state Minister for Works in the mid-1930s when the highway was named after him. The highway once passed through Brisbane, but was truncated at Bald Hills when the Gateway Motorway became National Highway 1 upon its opening in December 1986. Bald Hills is the northernmost suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the Bald Hills had a population of 6,502 people. Geography Bald Hills is a largely residential suburb. The road forms part of the main road route from the Brisbane Central Business District (CBD) to the northern suburbs, Sunshine Coast and east coast of Queensland. Gateway Motorway
The Gateway Motorway (M2 to Eight Mile Plains and M1 to Pine River) is a major tolled motorway in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia which includes the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridges (former Gateway Bridge). The motorway is operated by toll road operator Transurban. It bypasses Brisbane in order to provide easier access between the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. It runs from the M2 Logan Motorway in Drewvale (near Browns Plains) to the Gympie Arterial Road in Bald Hills.
