Gymnastics At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's Artistic Team All-around
Men's artistic team all-around competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics was held at the Beijing National Indoor Stadium on August 12, 2008. Teams qualified through the general artistic qualification performances. Each team was composed of six gymnasts. Five of those gymnasts performed on each of the six apparatus, and four of those scores counted towards the team total. The eight teams with the best combined scores in the qualification moved on to the team final. In the team final, each team selected three gymnasts to compete on each apparatus. All three scores counted for the team score; the three scores on each apparatus were summed to give a final team score. Huang Xu
Huang Xu (; born February 4, 1979) is a Chinese artistic gymnast. He specializes on the pommel horse and the parallel bars and is also strong on still rings. Background Huang began gymnastics training when he was five and was a member of the Jiangxu provincial team in 1989. At the age of 14, he was selected into the national team. National team Huang represented China at the 2000 Summer Olympics and was a member of the gold-medal-winning Chinese team. Individually, he placed 7th in the parallel bars event final, with a score of 9.650. Alexander Vladimirovich "Sasha" Artemev (russian: Александр Владимирович "Саша" Артемьев, be, Аляксандр Уладзіміравіч Арцем'еў; born August 29, 1985) is a retired American artistic gymnast. Artemev was a member of the bronze medal-winning U.S. team at the 2008 Olympic Games. He is the 2006 all-around U.S. national champion. Known for his ability on pommel horse, he is the 2007 and 2008 U.S. national champion on the pommel horse and won the bronze medal on the event at the 2006 World Championships. Fabian Hambüchen (also spelled Hambuechen; ; born 25 October 1987) is a retired German gymnast who was a four-time Olympian (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016) and was Olympic, World, and European champion. Fabian also won gold medals at European Games and at 2015 Summer Universiade. Philipp Boy (born 23 July 1987 in Schwedt, East Germany) is a former German gymnast. He was a member of the 2007 and 2010 World bronze medal winning teams. Gymnastics At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's Artistic Qualification
Qualifications for Men's artistic gymnastic competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics was held at the Beijing National Indoor Stadium on August 9. The results of the qualification determined the qualifiers to the finals: 8 teams in the team final, 24 gymnasts in the all-around final, and 8 gymnasts in each of 6 apparatus finals. The competition was divided to 3 subdivisions. The first subdivision took place at 12:00 China Standard Time (UTC+8); the second and third subdivision took place at 16:00 CST and 20:00 CST respectively.
