Gymnastics At The 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's Artistic Qualification
These are the results of the women's qualification round, the preliminary round which decided the finalists for all six events for women in artistic gymnastics at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. The qualification round took place on August 15 at the Olympic Indoor Hall. The top twelve teams from the 2003 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships completed for places in the team final. Each team was allowed to bring up to six gymnasts. During qualification, each team could have up to five gymnasts compete on each apparatus, and could count the four highest scores for the team total. The eight teams with the highest scores in the qualification round advanced to the team final. Individual gymnasts, including those who were not part of a team, competed for places in the all-around and apparatus finals. Artistic gymnastics is a discipline of gymnastics in which athletes perform short routines on different apparatuses. Zhang Nan (gymnast)
Zhang Nan (; born April 30, 1986, in Beijing) is a former artistic gymnast from China. Zhang was a member of the Chinese team for the 2004 Olympic Games, as well as the 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2006 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She is one of China's most successful female gymnasts and was the first Chinese woman to medal in an all-around competition at the World Championships. She is married to 2004 Olympic champion Teng Haibin. Irina Yarotska
Irina Yarotska (also spelled Iryna, born August 29, 1985) is a Ukrainian female artistic gymnast. Yarotska was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and is coached by Ghalina Chieghimagha. Career She started gymnastics at age 6 and began her career as a senior elite gymnast at 16, in 2001. Irina Vladimirovna Yarotskaya (her full name in her native Ukrainian) won the bronze medal on the balance beam at the 2002 World Championships in Debrecen. She also placed fourth in the all-around at the 2003 World Championships in Anaheim, California and went on to win the gold for all around and silver with her team at the 2003 University Games. Alina Kozich
Alina Kozich ( uk, Алина Козич, born December 16, 1987) is a Ukrainian former artistic gymnast. She was a member of the Ukrainian team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Gymnastics career Kozich started gymnastics when she was 5. She first came to prominence at the age of 13, when she won the all-around competition at the 2001 European Youth Olympics in Murcia, Spain. Liudmila Ezhova
Ludmila Ezhova Grebenkova ( (Lyudmila Yezhova Grebenkova), born 4 March 1982) is a Russian former competitive gymnast. She won bronze in the team event at the 2004 Summer Olympics and four medals at the World Championships. Career Ezhova was a mainstay of the Russian team from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s. Natalia Kamilovna Ziganshina (russian: Наталья Камиловна Зиганшина; born 24 December 1985), is a Russian former gymnast. She won a bronze medal in the team event at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Elena "Zamo" Mikhailovna Zamolodchikova (russian: Елена Михайловна Замолодчикова; born 19 September 1982) is a Russian former artistic gymnast, and four-time Olympic medallist. In 2015, she was inducted in the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Career Zamolodchikova began gymnastics at the age of six. Anna Pavlova (gymnast)
Anna Anatolyevna Pavlova (russian: А́нна Анато́льевна Па́влова; born 6 September 1987) is a Russian-born artistic gymnast who won two bronze medals at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, and represented Russia in other international competitions. In 2002 she won the Russian National Championships. Pavlova competed for Azerbaijan from 2013, winning silver at the 2014 European Championships on vault. Svetlana Khorkina
Svetlana Vasilyevna Khorkina (russian: Светлана Васильевна Хоркина; born 19 January 1979) is a retired Russian artistic gymnast. She competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, the 2000 Summer Olympics, and the 2004 Summer Olympics. During her career, Khorkina won seven Olympic medals and twenty World Championship medals. Over time, she medaled in every event at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Lin Li (; born 28 January 1986 in Guizhou, China) is a Chinese gymnast who specializes on the uneven bars. Lin Li started gymnastics when she entered elementary school in 1993. By 2002, Lin Li was selected for the National Team. Since joining the national team, Lin has competed at many prestigious championships such as the 2003 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 2004 Olympics and 2004 World Cup Final. Cheng Fei
Cheng Fei (; born May 29, 1988) is a retired Chinese artistic gymnast. She is a three-time World Champion on the vault (2005–2007) and 2006 World Champion on floor exercise. She was a member of the gold medal-winning Chinese teams for the 2006 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Aarhus, Denmark and 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
