These are the results of the women's individual all-around competition, one of six events for female competitors in the artistic gymnastics discipline contested in the gymnastics at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. The qualification and final rounds took place on August 15 and August 19 at the Olympic Indoor Hall. Results Qualification Ninety-eight gymnasts qualified to compete in the individual all-around event in the artistic gymnastics qualification round on August 15, by performing on at least one apparatus. The twenty-four highest scoring gymnasts advanced to the final on August 19. Carly Patterson
Carly Rae Patterson (born February 4, 1988) is an American singer, songwriter and former artistic gymnast. She was the all-around champion at the 2004 Olympics, the first all-around champion for the United States at a non-boycotted Olympics, and is a member of the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Gymnastics Patterson began gymnastics after attending a cousin's birthday party at a Baton Rouge gymnastics club (Elite Gymnastics) in 1994. She was coached there by former Israeli Olympian Yohanan Moyal. She started competing internationally in 2000, when she was 12 years old. 2000–2003 In 2000, Patterson participated in the Top Gym Tournament in Belgium and won the silver medal in the all-around and the bronze on balance beam. Courtney Anne Kupets Carter (born July 27, 1986) is an American former artistic gymnast. She is a two-time Olympic medalist from the 2004 Olympics (silver in the team competition, bronze on uneven bars), the 2002 world champion on the uneven bars, the 2003 U.S. national all-around champion, and the 2004 U.S. national all-around co-champion (with Carly Patterson). She is also a member of the gold-medal-winning U.S. team at the 2003 World Championships. Stephanie Moorhouse
Stephanie Louise Rae Moorhouse (born 20 January 1987) is an Australian retired artistic gymnast. Moorhouse made her first Australian team in 1999, at the age of 12. She won gold with the Australian team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games while completing year 10 and was part of the bronze medal-winning team at the 2003 World Championships. Wang Tiantian (; born February 14, 1986, in Tianjin, China) Wang's first major competition was at the 2003 Asian Championship. She won the vault finals as well a silver medal on floor exercise.
